- L&F addressed the reported KRW 160 billion deal on October 14, 2026.
- L&F Plus targets 60,000 tons of annual LFP capacity by the first half of 2027.
- Third-quarter results are scheduled for November 10, 2026.
L&F (KR7066970005) said on October 14, 2026 that discussions with LG Energy Solution over a lithium iron phosphate supply deal had not produced definitive terms. For L&F stock, the key figure is the company's planned expansion to 60,000 tons of annual LFP capacity by the first half of 2027.
Why the LFP deal matters
As The Globe and Mail reported on October 14, L&F said negotiations with LG Energy Solution were continuing and that the reported contract had no finalized value or specific terms. The company said it would provide another disclosure once concrete decisions were made or by mid-November.
The clarification separates an operating opportunity from a booked order. A report carried by Chosunbiz said Samsung SDI had agreed to procure about KRW 1 trillion of LFP cathodes from L&F over three years starting in 2027, while SK On had agreed to procure KRW 160 billion.
What does capacity mean for growth?
L&F Plus completed an LFP plant in May and planned annual production of 30,000 tons by the end of the third quarter, according to Chosunbiz. The second step is a 60,000-ton annual system in the first half of 2027. That doubling gives the LFP strategy a measurable operating milestone, while the LG Energy Solution talks remain a future catalyst rather than contracted revenue.
In the second quarter of 2026, L&F reported revenue of KRW 885 billion, up 70.2 percent from the prior year, and operating profit of KRW 20.8 billion, a 2.4 percent margin, according to ATS View. The figures show strong sales growth alongside a much smaller operating profit base, making the conversion of capacity into margins an important test.
When do results arrive?
Investing.com lists November 10, 2026 as L&F's next reporting date. Goldman Sachs maintained a Hold rating with a KRW 135,000 price target in a report covered by Markets Insider on October 15, 2026.
Stock story turns on execution
L&F's investment case now combines established cathode sales with a quantified LFP buildout. The November results will show whether the 30,000-ton launch target and the 60,000-ton expansion plan are translating into profitable growth.
