Lotte Shopping stock gained 8 percent after the Korea Exchange introduced a new low-PBR label for companies trading at persistent discounts to their book assets. The development was reported by SBS in a report published on Monday, November 2, 2026, and updated on Tuesday, November 3.
Exchange highlights valuation discounts
The Korea Exchange released a list of 151 companies from the KOSPI and KOSDAQ markets whose low price-to-book ratios have persisted. Lotte Shopping was included alongside Hyundai Steel, Hanwha Life and E-Mart among companies with market capitalizations above KRW 1 trillion.
The label is designed to increase market visibility around valuation discounts and encourage voluntary corporate responses. SBS cited expectations that affected companies could raise dividends or buy back and retire treasury shares, although the report also noted that low valuations can reflect weak business performance as well as substantial assets.
What the label means for investors
The new classification gives investors an additional screening signal, but it does not by itself establish a change in earnings or operating performance. The key follow-up will be whether Lotte Shopping announces concrete capital-allocation measures and whether those actions improve the market's assessment of the company.
Investors can follow the wider South Korean equity market through the KOSPI market overview.
