Motiva reported stronger adjusted earnings for the third quarter of 2026 on October 29, as higher toll-road activity lifted operating performance. The Brazilian infrastructure group said adjusted net income reached R$750 million, up 9.8 percent from the same quarter a year earlier, according to its third-quarter results release.

Road traffic drives quarterly growth

Adjusted net revenue increased 13.6 percent to R$3.806 billion. Adjusted EBITDA rose 13.4 percent to R$2.521 billion, while the adjusted EBITDA margin was 66.2 percent, slightly below the 66.4 percent recorded a year earlier.

Toll roads supplied the main operating contribution. Adjusted EBITDA from the segment climbed 13.1 percent to R$2.262 billion, while rail adjusted EBITDA edged up 0.3 percent to R$593 million. Equivalent toll-road vehicle traffic increased 33.3 percent to 377.9 million in the quarter, and transported rail passengers rose 0.5 percent to 195.6 million.

Airport sale reshapes balance sheet

Motiva completed the sale of its airport platform on September 1, 2026, for approximately R$5.2 billion. The company also redeemed about R$3.7 billion of debentures early and paid approximately R$1.5 billion in interest on equity during the quarter.

Net debt relative to last-twelve-month adjusted EBITDA fell to 3.2 times from 3.6 times a year earlier. The transaction leaves Motiva with a more concentrated portfolio centred on highway concessions and rail operations, while the company continues to invest in those businesses.

Brazilian infrastructure operator

Motiva operates toll roads and rail systems in Brazil, collecting revenue from highway concessions and passenger transport. Its third-quarter release separates the business into toll roads, rail and other activities, with toll roads providing the largest adjusted EBITDA contribution.

The group is positioned as a Brazilian transport-infrastructure operator with exposure to regulated concessions rather than a single consumer market. Its performance depends on traffic volumes, passenger demand, concession investment and financing costs.

Motiva's investor-relations page says the airport-platform transaction closed on September 1, 2026, with the assets subsequently operated and managed by ASUR. The company held its third-quarter conference call on October 29 in Portuguese with simultaneous English translation, according to the Motiva investor-relations page.
