- Pacific Edge secured US Medicare coverage for Cxbladder Triage and Triage Plus tests used in intermediate-risk microhematuria patients.
- The policy is scheduled to take effect on December 20, 2026 and could support broader commercial payer adoption.
- The company expects reimbursement access to improve test pricing, revenue growth and operating leverage.
Pacific Edge confirmed on November 6, 2026 that the final US Medicare coverage policy for its Cxbladder Triage and Triage Plus tests has been published. The policy covers validated urine-based biomarkers for patients with intermediate-risk microhematuria, or non-visible blood in the urine. The announcement was carried by BusinessDesk.
Coverage takes effect in December
The final Local Coverage Determination is scheduled to become effective on December 20, 2026. Pacific Edge said the decision establishes Medicare coverage for eligible Triage and Triage Plus testing and removes a reimbursement obstacle that had discouraged some urologists from ordering the tests.
Pacific Edge estimates about 1.14 million testing opportunities a year for intermediate-risk microhematuria patients. The company said only Triage and Triage Plus are covered under the final policy, while competing tests and generic billing codes are not covered.
Reimbursement supports commercial expansion
Medicare reimbursement is expected to raise the average selling price for the covered tests. Pacific Edge said Triage and Monitor were recently repriced under the US PAMA schedule, while Triage Plus carries a higher price. Management expects the Medicare decision to support revenue growth, operating leverage and cash generation as eligible testing expands.
The company also expects the policy to give commercial insurers a reference point when setting their own coverage rules. Pacific Edge said Geisinger recently established commercial policy for all-risk microhematuria patients, taking commercially contracted lives for its hematuria tests to 12.9 million in addition to Medicare coverage.
Investors await the next update
Pacific Edge plans to focus on migrating hematuria evaluation testing to Triage Plus, targeting intermediate-risk patients and building clinical pathways with integrated delivery networks. The company also plans selective investment in its commercial team and digital technology to support laboratory operations and payer access.
The company has scheduled its half-year results for the six months ended September 30, 2026, for November 24, 2026, before 10 a.m. New Zealand time, followed by an investor and analyst briefing.
