Panvel is expanding the role of its stores beyond medication sales as online competition increases. In a report published on Friday, October 30, Valor International said the company is prioritizing higher productivity from existing vaccination and consultation rooms.

Stores become care centers

Panvel executive manager Adriana Vasco told Valor that the focus is on increasing the productivity of existing infrastructure. The strategy is designed to strengthen customer loyalty and encourage more frequent visits as medication purchases shift increasingly toward apps and e-commerce.

Digital channels generated 33.7 percent of Panvel's retail revenue in the second quarter, according to the report. Pharmacy services accounted for 1.4 percent of retail revenue, while Panvel Clinic users made purchases more than 3.5 times as often as other customers and spent four times as much annually, Vasco said.

Vaccination leads service growth

Vaccinations represented 80.3 percent of Panvel's service revenue and grew 15.1 percent in the second quarter, according to figures cited by Valor. The company is also targeting cardiovascular and metabolic care, including services linked to diabetes and obesity.

Panvel plans to reach 1,000 stores by 2030. Virtually every new location now opens with at least one service room, connecting physical care with the company's digital channels.

Panvel stock investor context

The company's expansion comes as investors assess whether pharmacy chains can turn digital convenience and in-store care into more recurring customer relationships. The service strategy may support traffic and customer spending, but direct service revenue remains a small part of the retail business.
