Sanlam Allianz Holdings (Kenya) PLC has appointed Jacqueline Karasha as Group Chief Executive Officer, with the leadership change taking effect on November 1, 2026. Patrick Tumbo will retire on October 31 after more than eight years as group chief executive, according to Swala Nyeti.
Karasha prepares to lead the group
Karasha currently serves as CEO and Principal Officer of Sanlam Allianz Life Insurance (Kenya) Limited. She has more than 17 years of experience in life insurance leadership, sales and operations.
In her current role, Karasha has led changes to distribution channels, digital enablement and strategic partnerships, the report said. She is also leading initiatives intended to accelerate growth and reposition the life insurance business.
Tumbo leaves after eight years
Tumbo became group CEO on August 6, 2018. The company said its board and management thanked him for his service and contribution to SanlamAllianz.
The change gives investors a clear near-term leadership milestone: Karasha is scheduled to take over on November 1, while Tumbo's retirement becomes effective one day earlier. The incoming CEO's priorities will be watched as the group continues to develop its insurance operations in Kenya.
