- Third-quarter revenue rose as higher prices for self-produced coal supported profitability.
- Nine-month operating cash flow increased strongly, while total coal sales declined.
- Power generation and electricity sales also expanded during the first three quarters.
Shaanxi Coal Industry reported a 14.15 percent year-on-year increase in attributable net profit to 5.79 billion yuan for the third quarter of 2026, according to Sxcoal on October 28. Revenue reached 43.87 billion yuan, up 9.4 percent from a year earlier.
Higher prices support earnings
For the first nine months, revenue rose 3.97 percent to 122.77 billion yuan and attributable net profit increased 34.23 percent to 17.07 billion yuan. The company linked the improvement mainly to higher sales volumes and prices for self-produced coal, which strengthened the core coal business.
Coal output reached 135.48 million tonnes in the January-to-September period, up 3.92 percent year on year. Total coal sales fell 5.73 percent to 178.37 million tonnes, but coal sales revenue rose 6.3 percent to 108.64 billion yuan as the average selling price increased by about 12.8 percent to 609 yuan per tonne.
Cash flow and power operations expand
Operating cash flow rose 47.61 percent to 40.92 billion yuan during the first three quarters. Power generation increased 6.24 percent to 33.52 terawatt-hours, while electricity sales climbed 6.51 percent to 31.52 terawatt-hours.
For investors, the figures point to stronger earnings leverage when coal prices rise, although lower sales volumes remain a factor to watch. The reported growth also reflects the importance of the company's self-produced coal business rather than a broad increase across every operating line.
