- SLC Agrícola plans 854,400 hectares for the 2026/27 crop year, with soybean acreage set to rise 2.9 percent.
- The company is combining land acquisitions, irrigation projects and production partnerships to expand its Brazilian farming platform.
SLC Agrícola outlined a larger operating platform and higher crop targets for the 2026/27 season in a corporate presentation held on October 22, according to Quartr. The Brazilian producer plans to cultivate 854,400 hectares across 26 farms, while soybean acreage is set to increase 2.9 percent to 442,100 hectares.
Crop mix points to expansion
The plan calls for cotton acreage to rise 0.3 percent to 200,400 hectares, while corn acreage is expected to decline 2.3 percent to 154,600 hectares. Budgeted soybean yields are targeted at 4,080 kilograms per hectare, up 1.1 percent year over year, and second-crop corn yields are projected to increase 2.8 percent to 7,957 kilograms per hectare.
The presentation also highlighted weather and commodity-market risks. An October 2026 NOAA outlook pointed to a strong-to-very-strong El Niño through January to March 2027, while soybean and corn futures levels were cited as key market references for the coming crop cycle.
Land and irrigation add scale
SLC Agrícola is combining production growth with land and infrastructure investments. The Mato Grosso acquisition covers 8,900 hectares of arable land within a transaction totaling 669.0 million Brazilian reais. A separate partnership includes irrigation infrastructure and a production-based payment structure, while irrigation projects are planned across several farms.
The operating model leaves SLC Agricola stock exposed to crop yields, weather patterns, commodity prices and financing conditions. For investors, the larger planted area offers operating scale, but the harvest plan also increases the importance of disciplined capital allocation and execution.
