Sunoco LP reported record third-quarter results on November 3, 2026, as acquisitions and operating performance lifted earnings and cash generation. The partnership said it expects to exceed the upper end of its 2026 adjusted EBITDA guidance range. The figures were published in the Morningstar Business Wire release.
Record earnings and cash flow
Net income reached USD 499 million for the quarter ended September 30, compared with USD 137 million a year earlier. Adjusted EBITDA was USD 1.049 billion, or USD 1.060 billion excluding USD 11 million of one-time transaction-related expenses. Distributable cash flow, as adjusted, increased to USD 588 million from USD 326 million.
The improvement included contributions from the Parkland and other acquisitions. Fuel Distribution adjusted EBITDA excluding transaction expenses rose to USD 532 million from USD 238 million, while the Terminals segment increased to USD 124 million from USD 76 million. Pipeline Systems adjusted EBITDA declined to USD 166 million from USD 182 million, while the Refinery segment contributed USD 238 million.
Guidance and distribution outlook
Management said it was highly confident that 2026 adjusted EBITDA would exceed the upper end of its USD 3.5 billion to USD 3.7 billion guidance range. It also highlighted the eighth consecutive quarterly increase in the distribution. The payment of USD 1.0148 per unit is scheduled for November 19, 2026, for holders of record on November 6.
Sunoco completed the USD 600 million acquisition of Offen Petroleum on October 27. The transaction expands its fuel distribution operations and adds scale while the partnership works to keep leverage near its long-term target. Net debt to adjusted EBITDA stood at approximately 3.5 times at the end of September.
Business model and market position
Sunoco LP is headquartered in Dallas, Texas, and operates fuel distribution and midstream infrastructure across North America, the Greater Caribbean and Europe. Its network includes approximately 14,000 miles of pipeline and more than 170 terminals, supporting fuel sales to branded retail locations, independent dealers and commercial customers. The partnership is more diversified than a pure fuel retailer because it combines distribution, pipelines, terminals and refining operations.
Sunoco's latest figures give investors a stronger operating base to assess after the Parkland and Offen Petroleum transactions. The main near-term focus is whether the enlarged platform can deliver the expected full-year earnings while maintaining distribution growth and leverage discipline.
