- Tsumura raised its full-year fiscal 2027 revenue and profit outlook after bringing Yomeishu Seizo into consolidation.
- The revised forecast includes a negative goodwill gain and a securities sale gain in the interim period.
- China revenue is expected to remain below the initial plan, while the next results announcement is scheduled for November 9.
Tsumura raised its earnings outlook on October 28 after announcing the consolidation of Yomeishu Seizo. In its official forecast revision, the Japanese pharmaceutical company lifted its full-year fiscal 2027 revenue forecast to JPY 218.5 billion and profit attributable to owners of the parent to JPY 29.3 billion.
Acquisition changes the outlook
The revised full-year revenue forecast is JPY 4.9 billion above the previous plan, while operating profit is now expected to reach JPY 38.4 billion. Profit attributable to owners of the parent is JPY 3.1 billion above the previous forecast. The company said the changes mainly reflect the consolidation of Yomeishu Seizo and a review of selling, general and administrative expenses.
For the April to September interim period, Tsumura expects net sales of JPY 103.3 billion, operating profit of JPY 18.7 billion and profit attributable to owners of the parent of JPY 16.2 billion. The interim outlook includes a gain on negative goodwill related to Yomeishu Seizo becoming a consolidated subsidiary and a gain on the sale of investment securities that had initially been expected in the second half.
China remains a pressure point
The outlook is not uniformly stronger. Tsumura expects China revenue to fall below its initial target, mainly because sales of traditional Chinese medicine drug pieces in its crude drug platform are running below plan. The company left its fiscal 2027 dividend forecast unchanged.
Tsumura stock traded at JPY 3,821 on the Tokyo Stock Exchange at 3:30 p.m. JST on Friday, October 30, 2026. The next results announcement is scheduled for November 9, according to the company's investor relations calendar.
