Yageo stock draws attention after third-quarter revenue rose 49.7% year on year. Morningstar cited stronger AI exposure and a 41.0% gross margin.

AI demand strengthens the outlook

  • Yageo reported broad-based third-quarter growth as demand for components used in artificial intelligence applications increased.
  • Morningstar linked the improved outlook to stronger margins and tighter supply in multilayer ceramic capacitors.
  • The company remains exposed to weaker personal-computer demand and higher input costs.

Yageo's third-quarter revenue rose 49.7% year on year and operating profit jumped 93.1%, according to Morningstar in a November 2, 2026 company report. Artificial intelligence-related sales accounted for 20% of revenue, up from 16% in the previous quarter, while gross margin reached 41.0%.

AI demand lifts component growth

Morningstar said the results pointed to lasting margin gains as AI demand supports Yageo's multilayer ceramic capacitors and tantalum capacitors. The report also said the margin exceeded 40% for the first time in about five years.

The analyst report highlighted broad demand across computing applications, but also noted risks from weaker personal-computer demand and higher input costs. Yageo's outlook therefore depends on whether AI-related demand can offset pressure in more cyclical electronics markets.

Yageo serves broad electronics markets

Yageo is a Taiwan-based supplier of passive electronic components used in electronic systems. Its main products include tantalum capacitors, chip resistors and multilayer ceramic capacitors, with additional exposure to computing, communications and automotive applications. Morningstar describes the company as a leading supplier and ranks it first in tantalum capacitors and chip resistors and third in multilayer ceramic capacitors by global production volume.
