Palantir Technologies has clinched a high-profile partnership with marketing automation firm Zeta Global, yet the news did little to arrest the stock’s relentless slide. Shares plunged to a fresh 52-week low of €101.86 on Wednesday, deepening a year-to-date loss of nearly 29% and leaving the equity more than 43% below its record high. The disconnect between a flurry of commercial deals and the market’s souring mood underscores a broader correction in the AI sector, where investors are increasingly questioning whether lofty valuations are justified.

The alliance with Zeta Global, unveiled at the Cannes Lions Festival 2026, is intended to build Zeta’s entire data cloud on Palantir’s Foundry operating system. Zeta’s “Athena by Zeta” AI engine will layer on top to power real-time marketing decisions, creating what the companies describe as an unbroken data pipeline from enterprise operations to customer engagement. Zeta projects the shift will unlock more than $100 million in annual incremental revenue for itself over the coming years. Conspicuously absent from the announcement was any specific financial outlook for Palantir — contract duration, pricing, and minimum volume commitments were left undisclosed, leaving analysts to weigh the partnership’s strategic significance against its near-term revenue opacity.

The stock’s technical picture offers little comfort. Palantir closed Tuesday at €102.68 before sliding further on Wednesday, now trading well beneath its 50-day moving average of €118.01. The relative strength index has dropped to 32.7, edging into oversold territory, while the annualized 30-day volatility stands at 54.90%, reflecting persistent price turbulence. The latest decline extends a correction that has wiped out all gains made during the earlier AI frenzy, with the shares now barely above the intraday low of €102.14 touched just days ago.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Palantir?

Compounding the domestic commercial optimism are mounting headwinds in Europe. France’s domestic intelligence service, the DGSI, is replacing Palantir with local rival ChapsVision, while the UK’s National Health Service is reviewing its existing contract with a potential termination slated for 2027. These developments chime with a broader push by European governments toward digital sovereignty, raising questions about Palantir’s long-term foothold in a region that had been a growth target.

The US business, by contrast, remains a pillar of strength. Total first-quarter revenue for fiscal 2026 surged nearly 85% year over year to $1.63 billion, and within that, US commercial revenue alone jumped 133% to $595 million. The US Army’s NGC2 program continues to use Foundry as a central data layer, providing a stable base of government contracts. CEO Alex Karp has positioned the Zeta deal as a template for commercial expansion, arguing that Foundry can reinvent marketing infrastructure the way it transformed defence intelligence.

For investors, the calculus is stark: the US commercial engine must now compensate for European setbacks and a battered technical chart. The Zeta partnership bolsters Palantir’s narrative as an enterprise platform play, but until concrete revenue contributions appear in quarterly filings, the stock’s trajectory will be dictated by the same forces that drove it to a new low. The next earnings report will be the first real test of whether the marketing cloud deal can translate into hard numbers — or whether the slide has further to run.
