The WisdomTree Silver 3x Daily Leveraged ETP has been pummelled by a toxic combination of hawkish Federal Reserve signals and escalating Middle East tensions, logging a 38.12% monthly loss and closing Wednesday at $6.56. A weekly slide of 19.40% underscores how the triple-leveraged structure has magnified every downdraft in silver into outsized pain for holders.

The selling pressure began with the release of the Fed’s June meeting minutes, which laid bare a deeply divided committee. Nine members favour another rate hike before year-end, while eight advocate a pause. Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh, in an unusual move, declined to provide any rate projection at all. Markets have already priced in a better-than-80% probability of an imminent move, lifting the dollar and draining the appeal of zero-yield assets such as silver. Comex silver futures for July tumbled 4.54% to $58.164 per ounce, while spot silver slid more than 2% to $58.56, compounding the pressure on leveraged derivatives.

Add to that a sudden escalation in the Middle East. Speaking at the NATO summit in Ankara, US President Donald Trump declared the ceasefire with Iran dead, calling further diplomacy “a waste of time.” The announcement followed American airstrikes on Iranian targets in retaliation for attacks on oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran responded by launching rockets at US military bases in Bahrain and Kuwait. Washington also revoked key oil-sanctions waivers, pushing crude prices sharply higher and stoking fresh inflation fears. Investors fled speculative long positions across commodities, rushing into the liquidity of the US dollar. Silver found no bid.

The macroeconomic storm is amplified by worrying shifts in industrial demand. JPMorgan slashed its silver price forecast to a range of $60–$65 per ounce, pointing to growing substitution risk in the solar sector. Major manufacturers such as Jinko and Longi are rolling out silver-free cells, threatening to carve roughly 7% out of total industrial demand. India, once a voracious buyer, imported barely 47 tonnes of silver in May — a fraction of the near-470 tonnes taken a year earlier — after New Delhi raised import duties to 15%.

Technically, the ETP’s relative strength index has dropped to 29.6, officially flagging oversold conditions. Yet annualised volatility stands at a blistering 148.36%, highlighting the structural risk embedded in the product. On the underlying silver chart, the short-term moving average has crossed below the 21-day line, confirming the bearish bias. The spot price is now testing support at $58.00; a break there would open the door to the next floor near $56.70.

For leveraged holders, the daily reset mechanism has turned a difficult environment into a destructive one. Each leg lower compounds the damage, and the extreme volatility leaves little room for a recovery before the next negative catalyst arrives. With the Fed leaning hawkish and the Middle East crisis showing no signs of abating, the near-term outlook for the WisdomTree Silver 3x ETP remains precarious.
