The global scramble for secure critical mineral supply chains continues to lift Vancouver-based Focus Graphite, with the stock touching €0.26 in recent trading — a gain of 9.17% on the day. Over the past twelve months, shares have surged roughly 204%, though the equity remains about 41% below its 52-week peak of €0.44 set in November 2025. Despite the long-term rally, the stock has slipped around 5% since the start of the year, suggesting a period of consolidation.

Technical indicators reflect a market in equilibrium. Both the 50-day and 200-day moving averages now sit at €0.26, while the relative strength index of 50.7 points to a neutral reading — neither overbought nor oversold. No fresh corporate announcements have surfaced in the past two days, placing the share price move firmly in the context of broader appetite for graphite and other critical raw materials.

That appetite is underpinned by two wholly owned assets in Quebec, Canada. The flagship Lac Knife deposit has been threading its way through the environmental assessment process. In June 2026, the company completed its final technical study for the environmental and social impact review, including a hydrogeological assessment and, weeks earlier, an air quality analysis. The aim is to de-risk permitting and prepare the ground for regulatory submission to provincial authorities.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Focus Graphite?

The second project, Lac Tetepisca, is described by Focus as one of North America’s largest high-purity graphite occurrences. An updated NI 43-101 technical report filed in June outlines indicated resources of 120.2 million tonnes grading 10.27% graphitic carbon, plus a further 24.1 million tonnes at 9.88%, equating to roughly 14.7 million tonnes of in-situ graphite. The deposit’s scale positions Focus as a potential long-term supplier to battery, defense, and high-performance materials markets across the region.

Beyond raw tonnage, the company has been building a downstream technology edge. From the Lac Knife material, Focus achieved a purity of 99.9996% — nuclear-grade quality. It also holds a patented process for silicon-enhanced, spheroidized graphite intended for battery anodes. In a separate development, Focus signed a memorandum of understanding with PermaTint Ltd. to integrate its graphite into a proprietary coating designed to shield against high-frequency radiation. Independent tests showed significant signal blocking, and the company now plans validation tests using its own graphite concentrate to push toward commercialization.

Infrastructure support arrived in June with up to C$1.38 million in non-repayable funding from Canada’s First-and-Last-Mile program, managed by the federal Department of Natural Resources. The money is earmarked for road and electricity infrastructure at Lac Knife. The financial backing aligns with the Canadian government’s push to diversify critical mineral supply chains and reduce dependence on overseas sources, particularly from China.

Focus Graphite enjoys advantages unique to Quebec: established industrial infrastructure, access to low-cost hydroelectric power, and a stable political environment. The combination of advancing regulatory milestones, a growing technology portfolio, and a clear end-market thesis for graphite in lithium-ion batteries and defense applications gives the company a distinct development trajectory — provided the permits materialize and the technology can cross the bridge to commercial scale.
