Long hours in front of a screen have pushed the gaming-chair industry beyond basic lumbar support. At this year’s IEM Cologne and COMPUTEX, three manufacturers unveiled models that blur the line between furniture and wellness device, targeting everyone from professional esports players to home-office workers.
AutoFull is the official partner of IEM Cologne 2026, supplying the tournament with its latest seats during the event’s second phase from 6 to 9 June. The flagship M6 Ultra+ 2.0 features a built-in Shiatsu massage function alongside an active cooling and heating system. The company claims it is the world’s first gaming chair with active temperature regulation. A near-identical model, the M6 Ultra 2.0, will also be in use during the competition. The IEM Cologne grand final, set for 21 June, carries a prize pool of $1.25 million.
A separate announcement came from DXRacer, which has partnered with developer Behaviour Interactive to mark the tenth anniversary of the survival horror game Dead by Daylight. For a celebration event on 14 June 2026 at the Grand Quay in Montreal, the company crafted an exclusive limited edition of its CRAFT-series chairs. Those models will not be sold through regular retail channels. Additionally, DXRacer introduced the Martian Ultra, a chair equipped with electric multi-zone massage. The move underscores a broader push among manufacturers to counter the physical toll of prolonged sitting.
Across the Atlantic at COMPUTEX in Taipei, TTRacing showed off the MAXX Pro on 8 June. Designed for users up to 200 kilograms, the chair uses a steel-frame construction paired with class-4 hydraulics. Adjustable features include a magnetic neck pillow, a contoured lumbar pillow, and so-called 5D armrests that allow for fine-tuned positioning. TTRacing also previewed a future model with a stretch function for the lower back and hinted at complementary standing desks.
The convergence of these launches points to a clear industry direction: gaming chairs are evolving into high-tech tools for health prevention and thermal comfort, whether used for marathon esports matches or daily office work.
