A QR code on a ladder, an exoskeleton for roofers, and an AI tool that writes safety code — all launched on the same day — signal a shift toward holistic workplace safety in Germany. On 30 June 2026, multiple companies and institutes unveiled solutions that blend physical equipment, digital documentation, and artificial intelligence under the umbrella of height-access safety.

Ladder manufacturer KRAUSE led the push with KRAUSE 360° competence, a system that ties traditional climbing gear to consulting services, inspection support, and online tools. The company’s portfolio spans ladders, rolling scaffolds, climbing ladders, and platforms in three quality grades. But the core offering is pre-purchase advisory and help with compliance to Germany’s Betriebssicherheitsverordnung (BetrSichV), the Technische Regeln für Betriebssicherheit (TRBS 2121), DGUV rules, and DIN standards.

For long-term upkeep, KRAUSE provides inspection services under the label KRAUSE-INSPECT and runs its own academy that trains “befähigte Personen” — competent persons authorized to check climbing equipment.

A key digital piece comes from partner wosatec. Using a QR code affixed to each piece of equipment, companies can manage inspection deadlines and produce legally compliant documentation through a web app. The aim is to cut administrative overhead in factories and warehouses. The same day, Kern AG launched Allevo Studio, a SAP-integrated documentation tool that lets users jump directly from an instruction manual into a SAP transaction, streamlining process and test documentation.

Training is also part of the picture. The German Compliance Institute held sessions on 30 June focused on fall protection and ladder safety, emphasizing risk assessments and employee instruction under the Arbeitsschutzgesetz and TRBS 2121. These courses are especially relevant for operators of forklifts and telescopic loaders.

On the hardware side, Htrius introduced the Bionicback FP Ready, a passive exoskeleton designed to relieve the lower backs of solar installers working on rooftops. It is explicitly engineered to work with personal protective equipment against falls (PSA gegen Absturz), acknowledging the growing demand for both mobility and safety in the renewable-energy sector.

Artificial intelligence enters the safety engineering domain via Neuron Automation and its Neuron Smart Engineer. This web-based development environment supports safety requirements up to SIL3 and ASIL C. An integrated AI module called Transforma helps turn safety requirements into code and test cases, and also assists in error analysis.

A broader industry discussion is scheduled for 7 July 2026, when LOGISTIK HEUTE hosts a digital forum. Experts will debate how to blend automation and AI with high safety standards in e-commerce logistics.
