A major rollout of HSE-aligned workplace safety courses has begun across the United Kingdom, offering employers and safety officers access to certified first aid training in multiple regional hubs. The sessions, which started on July 27, 2026, provide full certification, emergency response skills, and requalification options — helping businesses meet their legal obligations under workplace safety regulations.
Training Kicks Off Across Multiple Locations
Three-day First Aid at Work (FAW) courses launched on July 27 in Preston, Ayr, Bradford, York, and Chester. Priced at £430.80, these comprehensive sessions are designed to meet Health and Safety Executive (HSE) standards. In York, the training is being held at the Mercure York Fairfield Manor and runs through July 29.
Alongside these, one-day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) courses began on the same day in Milton Keynes, Portsmouth, Walsall, and Newton-le-Willows. These shorter sessions cost £207.60 and provide foundational skills for workplace safety representatives at venues including Leonardo Hotels and Holiday Inn Express. A two-day requalification course also started in Paisley on July 27, priced at £322.80, for those needing to renew existing certifications.
Second Wave of Courses Through Early August
The programme continues with a second wave of three-day sessions running from July 28 to July 30, hosted at the British Red Cross Centre in Glasgow, the British Red Cross Centre in Canterbury, and the Holiday Inn Leicester Wigston.
Further three-day FAW courses are scheduled for the following week, from August 3 to August 5, at the British Red Cross Centre in Portsmouth and Muriel Matters House in Hastings. Both sessions carry the standard £430.80 fee and start daily at 09:00.
What the Training Covers
Participants receive nationally recognised certificates upon completion. The three-day FAW curriculum covers critical skills including injury assessment, resuscitation techniques, and bleeding control. All modules address HSE-mandated topics, helping organisations maintain compliance with workplace safety regulations.
Registration is managed through Eventbrite, with training taking place at venues ranging from dedicated British Red Cross centres to hotels and conference facilities such as the Cedar Court Hotel in Bradford and the Abbots Well Hotel in Chester.
