Nebius delivered a quarter that most companies can only dream of — and the stock still slipped. Shares in the Amsterdam-based AI cloud specialist fell roughly 5% to €206 on Thursday, pulling back from an all-time high of €243 set just two days earlier. The dip looks like a pause rather than a reversal: the stock has still surged 169% since January and nearly 500% over twelve months, cementing Nebius's status as one of the most explosive names in AI infrastructure.

The numbers driving the roller-coaster are staggering. First-quarter 2026 revenue hit $399 million, a 684% jump from a year ago and a 75% sequential gain. Nearly 98% of that came from AI cloud and infrastructure, with that segment alone rising 841%. Annualized recurring revenue (ARR) has already reached a run rate of roughly $2 billion, and management has set a year-end target of $7 billion to $9 billion — a potential 540% surge.

The rally had concrete catalysts. On June 1, Nebius launched the Physical AI Workbench, a developer platform that bundles simulation, synthetic data generation and deployment workflows. At Taiwan's Computex show, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang called Nebius one of a handful of "world-class AI clouds," noting, "We've recently worked with Nebius. They're growing incredibly fast." The Workbench integrates Nvidia's Cosmos 3, Isaac Sim and Isaac GR00T. Customers already include coding platform Cursor, AI space startup World Labs, payments firm Revolut and e-commerce giant Shopify.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Nebius?

Wall Street has taken notice. Citigroup lifted its price target to $287 — the highest among the 16 analysts covering the stock, all of whom rate it a buy. Citizens JMP sits at $270, Compass Point bumped its target to $260, and Goldman Sachs holds at $205 with a "Buy" rating, noting revenue beat consensus by 7%. The institutional vote of confidence goes beyond analyst notes: Situational Awareness, a hedge fund founded by a former OpenAI researcher, disclosed a passive 5.6% stake worth about $2.6 billion, representing roughly 12.41 million Class A shares. It is the fund's single largest position.

The infrastructure buildout to support that growth is breathtaking in scale. Nebius has signed contracts with Meta and Microsoft for AI data-center capacity valued at over $46 billion. Deliveries are slated to start in the third and fourth quarters. In May, the company secured power for its US expansion via a $2.6 billion deal with Bloom Energy, which will supply solid-oxide fuel cells behind the meter. The first project, 328 megawatts at an undisclosed site, is expected to go live this year. Nebius now expects a contracted data-center capacity of four gigawatts by end-2026, up from the three gigawatts it forecast just last month. A 310-megawatt facility in Finland is already under construction. The price tag: capital expenditures of $20 billion to $25 billion in 2026 alone, funding a multiyear period of negative free cash flow financed through equity and debt.

Yet the valuation math gives even bulls pause. The stock trades at roughly 65 times annualized revenue, versus a sector median of about four times. Investors are pricing in a continuation of hypergrowth that would see full-year 2026 revenue reach $3.4 billion by some estimates. Technical signals flash caution: the relative strength index sits at 72, firmly in overbought territory. The share price is well above its 20-day exponential moving average of $210 and its 50-day EMA of $175. Daily swings exceed $23, a testament to extreme volatility. On June 3, the chief revenue officer sold shares automatically for tax purposes — a routine transaction, but one that lands at a moment when the valuation has no historical peer in the sector.

Nebius's entire momentum rests on a single bet: that the scarcity of AI computing capacity will persist long enough for it to turn its massive pipeline into deliverable, profitable infrastructure. The company has the revenue growth, the blue-chip customers, the Nvidia endorsement and the institutional backing to make that case. Whether the stock can hold its current level depends entirely on whether Nebius can convert its $46 billion in signed contracts into capacity on time and on budget — a test that will begin in earnest with the next quarterly report.
