New analytical results from Powermax Minerals' Atikokan project in Northwestern Ontario have provided a clearer picture of the property's rare earth elements (REE) potential. The company released an integrated geochemical and geophysical interpretation on March 26, synthesizing data from rock, soil, and sediment samples collected in 2025 into a new conceptual exploration model.

A Foundation for Targeted Exploration

The analysis indicates that total rare earth oxide (TREO) values measured across the property range from 19.1 ppm to 503.3 ppm. Notably, a number of samples returned results exceeding 200 ppm. The highest concentrations are primarily clustered within Blocks B and C of the Atikokan area, specifically in identified gneiss units.

According to the newly developed model, the mineralization appears to be structurally controlled. The rare earths are chiefly hosted within the minerals monazite and allanite, which are found along shear zones and at the contact zones between batholith and gneiss.

From Data to Drilling Decisions

Paul Gorman, Chief Executive Officer of Powermax Minerals, stated that these findings significantly enhance the geological understanding of the Atikokan project and establish a clear foundation for advancing exploration work. The surface geochemical anomalies will serve as direct vectors for designing focused follow-up programs.

The project, which consists of 455 unpatented mining claims, remains in the exploration phase. Decisions regarding specific drill targets will now be prioritized based on the new model. Market valuation of the project is still in its early stages, with the company's shares currently trading approximately 77 percent below their 52-week high.
