Police arrested the suspect immediately on board the train. Officers reported that the passenger appeared to have consumed alcohol, and they alleged he had already insulted the security staff before the fight broke out.
The Karlsruhe criminal police have taken over the inquiry and seized the entire train for forensic examination and technical testing. Investigators are currently pursuing two possible explanations for the door’s opening: mechanical force applied during the grapple, or a defect in the locking mechanism.
