XRP’s Two Faces: A Tokenization Juggernaut Meets a Stagnant Price

XRP Ledger surges to second in RWA inflows with $2.6B added, but XRP token languishes 69% below highs amid weak ETF flows and stalled US crypto legislation.

The XRP Ledger is quietly becoming a heavyweight in the world of tokenized real-world assets, yet the token itself can barely stir from its slumber near $1.10. This disconnect between network growth and price action has rarely been starker, as institutional interest in the spot market wanes and a key piece of US legislation stalls in the Senate.

A Tokenization Boom Unfolds

Over the past six months, the XRP Ledger has absorbed a staggering $2.6 billion in new tokenized real-world assets, excluding stablecoins, according to RWA.xyz. That surge has propelled the network to second place among all blockchains for RWA inflows during that period, trailing only BNB Chain’s $3 billion haul.

The trajectory is remarkable. At the start of January 2026, the ledger held just $897 million in tokenized assets. That figure doubled to $1.8 billion by the end of the month, and the subsequent six months added another $2.6 billion, bringing the total to $4.38 billion. Only three blockchains globally have managed to attract more than $2 billion in RWA inflows in a half-year span.

Three assets are driving this expansion. Justoken’s energy product JMWH dominates, representing $2.229 billion — a full 50.8% of all RWA value on the ledger. A credit product from CRX Digital Assets and Ripple’s own stablecoin RLUSD round out the top contributors.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying XRP?

The Price Picture: Stuck in Neutral

While the network hums, XRP’s market price tells a different story. The token is trading at $1.10, a staggering 69% below its 52-week high of $3.55 from July 2025. Year-to-date, it has shed roughly 41% of its value.

The chart offers little encouragement. The 50-day moving average sits at $1.11, barely a whisker above the current price. The 200-day average, however, looms at $1.40 — a gap of more than 21% that underscores the persistent downtrend. The pattern of lower highs and lower lows has held for months, a classic bearish formation.

The relative strength index stands at 47.2, a neutral reading that offers no clear directional signal. The token is hovering just 8% above its 52-week low of $1.01, leaving little margin for error.

ETF Flows Dry Up as Washington Delays

The lack of price momentum is mirrored in the institutional flows. Spot XRP ETFs recorded their weakest month since launch in July, with inflows collapsing to $12.43 million. That compares with $131.94 million in May and $59 million in June. According to SoSoValue, the last three trading days of the week ending July 24 saw zero new money enter these products.

The seven US-listed spot ETFs collectively manage roughly $1 billion in assets, holding 977 million XRP tokens. Analysts suggest institutional capital is rotating into equities and tech funds, leaving crypto products in the cold.

Adding to the headwinds, the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act — legislation that could classify XRP as a digital commodity and clarify the jurisdictional boundary between the SEC and the CFTC — has stalled. Senate Majority Leader John Thune indicated on July 24 that deliberations would begin soon, but a final vote before the summer recess is now off the table. A sticking point remains: President Trump signed ethics rules barring officials from receiving digital asset compensation, but Democratic lawmakers object that those rules expire in 2029. Polymarket bettors currently assign only a 43% probability to passage this year.

Ripple Builds While the Token Waits

Undeterred by the price stagnation, Ripple continues to expand its infrastructure. On July 24, the company launched Ripple Mint, a platform allowing institutional clients to mint, redeem, and move the RLUSD stablecoin via web interfaces or direct API connections. RLUSD now boasts a market capitalization of $1.59 billion, making it the ninth-largest dollar-pegged stablecoin. It is backed by approximately $1.62 billion in cash, cash equivalents, and short-term US Treasuries.

XRP at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.

A partnership with compliance network Notabene integrates RLUSD into payment flows across more than 2,300 connected financial institutions. Ripple has also secured a full crypto service provider license in Europe, enabling regulated services across the European Economic Area.

The XRP Ledger itself crossed a milestone of 8 million activated accounts. Meanwhile, XRP reserves on Binance have fallen to 2.61 billion tokens, the lowest level in six months — a signal that holders are moving assets to private wallets rather than preparing to sell.

A Tale of Two Trajectories

The divergence between network fundamentals and token price is not new for XRP. The rapid growth in tokenized assets and RLUSD circulation has yet to translate into sustained buying pressure for the native token. With the RSI neutral and the price hugging its moving averages, the next decisive move likely hinges on external catalysts — a Senate vote on the CLARITY Act, the Federal Reserve’s late-July meeting, or a broader shift in crypto market sentiment. For now, the network builds, but the token waits.
