Airbus Radar Lab Cleared for Flight as UBS Trims Price Target
Published on 11/07/2026 at 17:14 | Editorial boerse-global.deAirbus has wrapped up the commissioning flights of its A320 ATRA flying laboratory at Manching, clearing the aircraft to support development of the E-Scan radar destined for the Eurofighter. The airframe is owned by the German Aerospace Center (DLR), with Airbus operating it as a testbed for the radar programme.
The milestone sits alongside a broader push across Airbus's training and services arms. On Thursday the group signed an agreement with Blue Angels Air covering the instruction of cadet pilots, who will complete Airbus's ab-initio training within the Airbus Flight Academy network. The deal keeps the syllabus inside the existing academy structure rather than building new capacity.
Digital training got a lift too. Skywise, the Airbus unit, announced on Monday that it is adding Airbus flight-training solutions to its portfolio, including the MATe Suite, the Virtual Procedure Trainer and Flight eLearning.

UBS Lowers Its Mark
Valuation watchers had something to chew on as well. UBS cut its price target on the stock from EUR 240 to EUR 230 on Tuesday, according to media reports, while leaving its buy recommendation in place.
Delivery Math Tightens
The commercial figures frame the challenge. Reuters reported 74 aircraft handed to 45 customers in October, taking the January-to-October total to 621 — a 6.2% increase on the same period a year earlier. Airbus reaffirmed its guidance of around 870 aircraft at the nine-month results, which leaves 249 jets to be delivered in November and December if that target is to be met.
Bookings present a mixed picture. October brought 202 gross orders, lifting gross orders since the start of the year to 1,376. After 71 cancellations, net orders stood at 1,305 — a reminder that the monthly and cumulative figures measure different things.
Drone Cleared for French Service
On the defence side, Airbus Helicopters reported progress on Tuesday: France's procurement agency, the DGA, qualified the vertical take-off and landing variant of the U010 Aliaca. That opens the way for deployment under the SMDM contract. The first two systems were delivered to the French Navy in September, according to Airbus.
