Antimony Resources: Dilution Warning Sits Alongside GBC's CAD 2.52 Target as Bald Hill Drilling Builds Toward a First Resource Estimate

Antimony Resources has banked its money. Whether that money turns into value per share is a separate question, and the market backdrop is offering no favours in the meantime.

The company closed a private placement raising C$3 million in gross proceeds, issuing 10 million units at C$0.30 apiece. Each unit pairs one common share with half a warrant, and a full warrant can be exercised at C$0.50 until 23 October 2028. Proceeds are earmarked for exploration and development at Bald Hill plus general working capital.

That cash buys optionality, not a verdict. The dilution question does not stop at the shares already issued — warrant exercises would add more, though they would also bring fresh capital through the door. Neither outcome on its own settles what the company actually achieves economically at Bald Hill.

GBC Keeps Its Buy Call, and Explains Why the Fair Value Came Down

On 16 October, GBC AG reaffirmed its buy recommendation with a price target of CAD 2.52 for 31 December 2027. The slightly lower fair value, the analysts said, reflected dilution outweighing the financing proceeds and a reduced valuation discount for outstanding warrants and options.

That reasoning carries more weight than the headline number. A successful capital raise and a lower per-share valuation can coexist without contradiction: financial flexibility rises at the company level while the arithmetic for any single share can look different. The buy call is no licence to book the placement as an unqualified win, and blanket hostility to any share issuance would be just as crude. The test sits in between — does the project progress the money funds justify the larger share count?

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Antimony Resources?

Drilling Points South, With a 21.45% Intercept Inside a Broader Zone

The geological hook arrived roughly two weeks ago. Antimony Resources reported a section averaging 4.36% antimony over 13.0 metres in Bald Hill's main zone, with drilling extending the higher-grade mineralisation southward toward the Central Zone. Within that broader interval sat a single 1.10-metre stretch grading 21.45% antimony.

The headline grade is striking, but how such intercepts sit inside the wider mineralisation matters just as much. According to the company, the drilling is designed to expand the mineralisation and close data gaps ahead of a maiden resource estimate. It has also flagged restarting drilling with two rigs and collecting metallurgical samples.

Flat Chinese Prices Are Stabilisation, Not a Demand Turnaround

What happens underground is only half the story; the antimony market is the other. Chinese antimony prices held unchanged between last Monday and today, according to media reports, following a slide that had run since 12 October. Easing raw-material tightness and weak demand are cited as the drivers.

Unchanged prices are not evidence of a stronger market. When supply loosens and buyers stay on the sidelines, flat prints alone support no fresh upswing. A 15 October report painted a similar picture for Europe: largely stable antimony prices against weak demand from downstream industry and high inventories. That is relevant sector background for Antimony Resources, but it does not explain individual moves in the stock.

Keeping the two threads apart is the useful discipline here. The commodity market describes the environment; drilling and financing show what the company itself is doing. Both belong in an assessment — they are not the same thing.

The productive link between the raise and the exploration effort is straightforward: the financing supplies the means, while further work is meant to advance the assessment of the project. Assay grades and a fuller treasury serve different purposes, and neither substitutes for the other. The maiden resource estimate, built from that combined data, is the real proving ground — and with demand soft, that distinction matters more than the temptation to bundle financing, high-grade intercepts and commodity prices into a single success story.
