AppLovin Braces for Q3 Print as Wall Street Trims Targets and Legal Clock Ticks
Published on 10/30/2026 at 16:41 | Editorial boerse-global.deAppLovin shareholders have plenty to chew on before the company reports third-quarter 2026 results after the U.S. close on November 4. Two brokerages cut their price targets on Wednesday while keeping their buy-side ratings intact, a securities class action is working its way through the courts, and the broader tech tape has turned unforgiving.
The stock fell 7.0% in a weak technology sector, with media reports pointing to worries over hefty AI spending and elevated interest rates as the backdrop. No fresh company-specific catalyst has been confirmed for the move. The prior day brought a 2.6% decline, and coverage at the time flagged persistent weakness ahead of the earnings release, citing growth concerns and a run of target reductions.
UBS Slashes Its Number, Keeps the Faith
UBS now sees $414 a share, down from $790 — a near-halving of its target — while reaffirming its buy recommendation. The Swiss bank pinned the revision on slower consumer growth. RBC Capital, for its part, trimmed its target to $500 from $575 and stuck with its "Outperform" rating, pointing to competition and questions about the size of the total addressable market.
The two calls frame different sides of the same growth question. UBS focused on the pace of expansion; RBC trained its lens on how much room AppLovin can carve out against rivals. Neither downgrade amounts to a sell signal, and neither settles what the actual quarterly figures will show. Investors should treat the target cuts as revised expectations, not verdicts on the business.

A Legal Deadline and Unproven Claims
Alongside the analyst chatter, the previously filed securities class action remains in play. Schall, Brown & Schwartz LLP reminded investors on Tuesday of the November 16 deadline to seek lead-plaintiff status. The reminder does not signal a new suit — the case was already on file.
The allegations, which include delays in developing an AI video tool and purportedly overstated improvements to AI models, are assertions by the plaintiffs and have not been established in court. Pomerantz LLP has also brought a class action against AppLovin and certain executives touching on statements about AI model enhancements and holdups with an AI tool for creating advertising videos. Those claims, too, are unproven.
November 4: The Next Hard Data Point
AppLovin announced roughly three weeks ago that it would publish its third-quarter 2026 results after the U.S. market close on November 4, with a companion webinar slated for the same day. Management is expected to walk through the numbers and the business trajectory during that call.
That makes the earnings release the next genuine company news, distinct from the analyst revisions and the unresolved litigation. The retained positive ratings neither confirm how the quarter played out nor prejudge where the lawsuit lands. What the report will test is precisely the ground the two brokerages flagged: growth momentum, competitive standing, and the reach of the market AppLovin can address.
