Bayer's Kidney Data and Prostate Cancer Win Land Ahead of a Packed November 3 Calendar
Published on 10/25/2026 at 13:01 | Editorial boerse-global.deBayer's pharmaceutical pipeline produced a pair of clinical readouts this week, with Finerenone posting sharp reductions in protein leakage among a difficult-to-treat kidney patient group and Darolutamid cutting the risk of metastasis or death in high-risk prostate cancer by 58%.
The kidney findings come from new subgroup analyses of the Phase III FIND-CKD trial, which enrolled patients with chronic kidney disease without diabetes. In patients with FSGS, albuminuria fell 40% versus placebo after twelve months, while proteinuria dropped 41% over the same period. Bayer said the analyses pointed to kidney-protective effects across several patient groups, including IgAN alongside FSGS. The company stressed that the reported results apply specifically to chronic kidney disease without accompanying diabetes.
Prostate Data and a Gene Therapy Manufacturing Push
On the prostate side, the interim analysis of the Phase III DASL-HiCaP study tested Darolutamid on top of androgen deprivation therapy and radiotherapy in patients at high risk of recurrence. The 58% risk reduction applies to the combined primary endpoint of metastasis or death.
Elsewhere in the group, Bayer subsidiary AskBio said Thursday it will present five papers on technologies for AAV manufacturing at the ESGCT congress, scheduled for October 27–30, 2026 in Hamburg. Manufacturing methods will be the focus of the contributions, according to the company.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Bayer?
Vividion Therapeutics, another Bayer subsidiary, reported on October 15 that the first patient had been treated in a global Phase II study. The trial is evaluating the WRN inhibitor VVD-214 combined with Pembrolizumab as first-line therapy in advanced MSI-H or dMMR colorectal cancer, with roughly 140 patients planned across about 21 countries.
Analysts Line Up Behind the Stock Before the Numbers
Two broker notes landed in the run-up to the quarterly report. JPMorgan reportedly reaffirmed its "Overweight" rating on October 16 with a price target of EUR 61, while UBS kept its "Buy" call and EUR 62 target a day earlier, on October 15. Both assessments predate the earnings release.
Investors will get the hard numbers on November 3, when Bayer publishes its third-quarter 2026 interim report at 07:30 CET. A media update is scheduled from 10:00 CET that morning, and an investor video conference is set for 14:00 CET the same day.
Bayer at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.
Away from the clinic, Bayer published a study roughly two weeks ago on global agricultural competition, concluding that the European Union and the United Kingdom risk falling further behind. The company pointed to slower growth in crop production than in several major agricultural markets.
