Brazilian financial market infrastructure provider CSD BR has begun using the XRP Ledger to mirror and verify ownership records for selected investment fund shares issued by Banco BTG Pactual. The initiative marks a concrete step in the ledger's institutional adoption, even as the token's price action and supply mechanics continue to draw market attention.

Under the arrangement, CSD BR's existing systems remain the official register for custody, settlement and registration, while the project leans on the network's token standard. Later phases could extend to native issuance and blockchain-based trading, according to the plans outlined.

Price and ETF picture

XRP changed hands at $1.51 on Wednesday, up 1.3% on the day but roughly 18% below its level since the start of the year. The token's 50-day average sits at $1.37, with the current price about 9.0% above that mark.

Regulated investment products have drawn steady demand. US spot XRP ETFs closed September with net inflows of $121.4 million, and net assets under management in those funds stood at $1.69 billion as of the September 29 reference date.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying XRP?

The flow data shows a market that has been consistently absorbing supply. On September 28, the funds took in a net $3.96 million, all of it into Canary Capital's XRPC product, while other issuers reported no changes that session. Three days earlier, on September 25, the ETFs logged inflows of roughly $22.65 million, led by Bitwise with about $18.39 million, followed by Franklin Templeton at around $4.26 million. Before that, the products had already pulled in $38 million over September 22–23.

Evernorth vote and Nasdaq listing

On the corporate side, shareholders of the listed shell company Armada Acquisition Corp. II are voting Wednesday on a planned merger with Evernorth. The transaction aims to create an XRP-focused treasury company on the Nasdaq under the ticker XRPN. A positive shareholder vote is a precondition for the combination, though it does not by itself complete the merger and listing.

Protocol upgrades in the pipeline

Several technical changes are in the works across the network. Activation of the BatchV1_1 amendment, which can bundle up to eight linked transactions, was recently delayed after validator support briefly fell below the required threshold. If the support ratio holds steady, October 9 is the earliest possible date for it to take effect. At the same time, an extension for differentiated permissions on accounts is in a two-week activation countdown, preparing the separation of payment and compliance roles for institutional users.

Monthly escrow release

On the supply side, Ripple's routine monthly process is due: on Thursday, up to one billion XRP will be released from the company's escrow mechanism as part of the regular schedule. The release at the start of the month is an established part of Ripple's framework for managing token distribution, and media reports describe it as a routine event. In practice, the full unlocked allotment rarely reaches free circulation — most of the tokens not immediately needed are typically returned to new escrow contracts, a mechanism designed to prevent sudden supply gluts from weighing on the market. Investors took the step in stride, given the process is transparent and predictable and has been familiar to institutional participants for years.

Stripe payment standard integration

Beyond capital flows and protocol work, operational integrations are gaining ground. In mid-September, Ripple added XRP support to a payment standard developed jointly with Stripe for software-initiated payments. The move strengthens the network's functional use in automated transactions and opens additional applications beyond purely speculative trading activity.
