Brevan Howard Taps Ripple Prime as 1.6 Billion XRP Floods Into Binance

Institutional plumbing and on-chain token flows are pulling XRP in two directions at once. Ripple has secured a marquee name for its prime brokerage build-out, while analysts track a wave of coins moving onto one of the world's largest exchanges.
Brevan Howard, the macro hedge fund overseeing roughly $35 billion in assets, will use Ripple Prime for clearing, financing and prime brokerage across both traditional markets and digital assets. The tie-up extends a relationship that dates back to last year, when funds managed by Brevan Howard joined a $500 million Ripple funding round. The current agreement does not obligate the manager to buy XRP directly or to route transactions through the token itself — a distinction that matters when reading institutional headlines.
A Familiar Story on the Price Chart
Traders greeted the news without much enthusiasm. XRP changed hands at $1.46 on Wednesday, down 2.5% on the day, holding just above its 50-day moving average of $1.43. The token has now failed repeatedly to clear the $1.55 resistance band. Analyst Ali Martinez had flagged a hold above $1.50 as the trigger for any fresh upside; with that level lost, attention shifts to $1.43 and then to support around $1.38 if the pullback deepens.
The lukewarm reaction reflects a market that has grown used to institutional announcements arriving without an immediate spot bid. What is keeping sentiment in check is supply: CryptoQuant analysts estimate that roughly 1.6 billion XRP moved onto Binance over the past 30 days. Inflows of that size expand the liquid float available on exchanges, though they stop short of confirming outright sales. Large holders often shift coins for over-the-counter deals, custody arrangements or internal bookkeeping rather than for immediate spot market execution.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying XRP?
Derivatives desks, meanwhile, are anything but quiet. Binance led September's monthly XRP futures volume at $32.36 billion, ahead of Bybit with $12.5 billion and OKX with $11.32 billion.
Regulated Vehicles Keep Absorbing Supply
Even as the spot price sags, demand for regulated exposure has proven stubborn. US spot XRP ETFs have now posted twelve straight weeks of net inflows, adding roughly $3.14 million on Tuesday alone. Providers are also upgrading their machinery: SEC filings show Grayscale is introducing in-kind creations and redemptions for its GXRP product, letting authorized participants subscribe and redeem fund shares directly in tokens rather than in cash.
On the corporate side, the Nasdaq debut of XRP treasury company Evernorth has slipped slightly for administrative reasons, according to a notice filed with the SEC. Once the transaction closes, Evernorth expects to hold about 473 million XRP alongside roughly $300 million in gross proceeds.
XRP at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.
What happens next hinges less on the partnership announcements than on whether the market can digest the recent token transfers onto trading venues without a broader wave of selling.
