BYD Opens Seal 07 Order Books as Denza N8 and Seagull Round Out a Busy Launch Stretch
Published on 10/28/2026 at 12:10 | Editorial boerse-global.deBYD kicked off blind orders for the second-generation Seal 07 on Monday, a move that lands alongside a parallel pre-sale push from its Denza brand and fresh model activity across several vehicle classes. The order books are open before full specification details have been published, and the company has confirmed that both the plug-in hybrid and the pure battery-electric versions of the sedan will carry the second generation of its Blade Battery, with Flash Charging slated for both drivetrains.
That announcement widens the roster of BYD vehicles offering the fast-charging setup. Just over a week ago the carmaker launched the revised Seagull in China, and the better-equipped trims of that city car also support Flash Charging — a sign the technology is no longer confined to premium segments. Seagull pricing runs from RMB 65,900 to RMB 99,900. According to the company, versions fitted with the larger battery can charge from 10% to 70% in five minutes, though that claim does not extend across every variant of the model.
The Denza sub-brand added its own step on Monday, opening pre-orders in China for the fully electric N8, with media reports pointing to a November market launch. Booking windows and actual deliveries remain distinct milestones — opening the order books is not the same as putting cars in customers' hands.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying BYD?
Beyond the showroom
Away from the Chinese order flow, BYD is also building out the ecosystem around existing products. On 21 October it announced a partnership with Truckman, a British accessories specialist, to supply approved equipment for the SHARK pickup in the UK. Customers will be able to order the items through BYD dealerships. Unlike the domestic order launches, this deal does not involve a new generation of vehicle — it extends the offering around a model already on sale, giving the various announcements different commercial footholds.
Product news alone, however, does not quantify an earnings contribution, and investors have other items on the radar. Reuters reported on Friday that the US military intends to bar BYD vehicles from Kadena Air Base on Okinawa, Japan, citing security risks, with the ban due to take effect Monday. The measure is specific to that installation and should not be read as a blanket sales prohibition across Japan.
A trimmed target and a looming print
Analyst sentiment offered a mixed signal of its own. CLSA cut its price target on BYD on Friday to HK$104 from HK$120 while keeping its "High-Conviction Outperform" rating — a lower mark paired with a still-positive investment verdict.
The next hard financial checkpoint arrives on 29 October, when the board is scheduled to review and approve the unaudited results for the third quarter and the first nine months. That meeting will shift attention from the launch calendar back to how the business has actually performed. The new order windows concern future supply; the upcoming figures will show what the completed quarter delivered — a distinction that matters when weighing the model offensive.
