Circus SE has crossed its first border outside Europe, switching on commercial operations in the United Arab Emirates — a move that lifted the German food-robotics company's shares 7.2% to EUR 1.84 in the session following the announcement.

The advance builds on the company's earlier milestone of securing ECAS certification in the region, the first such approval for a player in the food-robotics field. The stock had already closed Tuesday at EUR 1.71, up 4.0%, as word of the Gulf entry circulated.

Abu Dhabi First, Dubai Next

Abu Dhabi hosts the operational kickoff, with Dubai earmarked as the next domestic location, according to media reports. On the ground, Circus is working alongside catering provider Royal Prestige Food Contracts — a partner that turns out more than 3 million meals a year and supplies clients including the royal palace, government ministries, the UAE armed forces, energy group ADNOC and the Red Crescent.

To mark the market entry, Circus SE has scheduled a press and launch event in Abu Dhabi on 6 October at 18:00 local time, where it will present the CA-1 robotics system to a local audience.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Circus?

A Summer of Reset Behind the Expansion

The Gulf push lands after a notable operational recalibration. On 16 July the company cut its revenue guidance for fiscal 2026 to EUR 5.2 million from a prior range of EUR 44 million to EUR 55 million, following EUR 1.6 million in revenue the year before. Management attributed the revision to a shift of the bulk of planned system deliveries from the second half of 2026 into 2027, citing the need to safeguard the economics and scalability of its AI robotics ecosystem and to fine-tune supply chain, system integration and maintenance.

That backdrop of share-price pressure contrasted with a run of strategic developments, including the commercial rollout of the Circus Pods and personnel changes: a top manager was appointed to the supervisory board roughly a month ago, following a CEO insider purchase reported more than a month earlier.

Courting Institutional Investors

CEO Nikolas Bullwinkel is set to make the company's case to investors across a busy autumn calendar. He will present at Bank of America's Transforming World Conference on 10 November and at Goldman Sachs' AI Symposium in London on 25 November, with his talks focused on developments in dual-use robotics and Physical AI. Circus also intends to appear at the Deutsches Eigenkapitalforum, the Munich Capital Market Conference and the Baader Investment Conference.

The company carries a market capitalization of EUR 44.17 million. For now, investors are treating the Gulf expansion as a positive signal for operational scaling.
