Copper One Resources Expands Labrador Footprint as Redonda Drilling Advances
Published on 10/08/2026 at 19:50 | Editorial boerse-global.deCopper One Resources is wasting no time in building out its position in the Canadian resource sector. The explorer has struck a deal to acquire full ownership of the Sword & Gossan properties in west-central Labrador, a nickel-copper-cobalt play, from current holder 1594122 B.C. Ltd. The purchase carries a cash price tag of CAD 3.65 million.
Trading in the company's shares reflected the news, with the stock climbing 9.6% to EUR 0.2900 during the session. The advance came on the heels of a broadly supportive tone across metals markets.
Payment Structure and Royalty Terms
The consideration is split into two installments. A first payment of CAD 1.15 million falls due within one business day of the agreement taking effect, while the remaining CAD 2.5 million must be settled within six months. On top of that, the deal provides for two annual royalty prepayments of CAD 200,000 each, payable on the first two anniversaries.
The ground carries an existing 2% net smelter returns royalty. Copper One has secured the right to buy back half of that royalty for CAD 2.0 million, which would cut the rate to 1%.

What the Land Package Holds
The newly secured ground takes in ten licenses covering 156 claims across roughly 3,900 hectares, situated about 90 kilometers north of Churchill Falls. Mandatory exploration spending is not imminent — between July and August 2027, outlays totaling CAD 31,200 will come due.
Work carried out historically between 2005 and 2007 identified surface mineralization and sulphide occurrences in two drill holes on the property. Even so, the bulk of the electromagnetic conductor structures remains untested. The company cautions that these historical exploration results have not been verified and should not be treated as current.
Redonda Program Presses Ahead
While the Labrador acquisition takes shape, Copper One is keeping its existing operations moving. At the Redonda project in British Columbia, a fully funded diamond drilling program totaling 2,400 meters is underway. Hole RED-26-03 is currently in progress, targeting a depth of approximately 470 meters.
That hole marks the third pass of the campaign. Before it, the company wrapped up the preceding hole, RED-26-02, at a depth of 425.8 meters. Within that interval, the team encountered visually visible native copper at a depth of roughly 40 meters. Assay results are still pending, meaning the exact mineralization has yet to be confirmed.
COPPER ONE RESOURCES at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.
Metals Market Provides a Tailwind
The corporate developments have unfolded against a firm backdrop in global metals markets. Copper futures rose by as much as 1.2%, according to a Bloomberg report, with the return of Chinese market participants from a week-long holiday cited as the main driver behind the added demand momentum.
Tight inventories and a labor stoppage at Antofagasta's Centinela mine have also underpinned prices for the industrial metal. That supportive environment gives the exploration sector a solid footing, even as market participants await the outstanding assay results from Copper One's latest drilling.
