Copper One Resources Flags Visible Copper at Majuba Hill, But Assays Hold the Verdict
Published on 11/02/2026 at 17:21 | Editorial boerse-global.deCopper One Resources has wrapped up the first hole of its second-phase drill campaign at Majuba Hill, reporting visible native copper and copper oxides in the recovered material. The announcement, released Friday, marks an operational milestone for the wholly owned project — though it stops well short of telling investors what grade, if any, the mineralization carries.
The distinction matters. Visible copper in drill core is an observation, not an assay result, and the company itself pointed to the laboratory work still required before any conclusions can be drawn on copper content or economic significance.
A 445-metre hole inside a much larger plan
The completed hole reached a depth of 1,460 feet, or roughly 445 metres. That figure describes the scale of this single drill pass — not the tenor of the rock, and certainly not proof that a deposit can be mined at a profit.
It sits within a broader second-phase diamond drilling program of up to 10,000 feet, or 3,048 metres, on the fully company-owned Majuba Hill property. The "up to" qualifier defines the intended scope of the campaign rather than drilling already delivered. Copper One had flagged the start of this expanded phase on 26 October; at that point, assay results from the completed 2026 first-phase program were still pending.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying COPPER ONE RESOURCES?
Share price moves ahead of the data
The stock drew attention alongside the news, with one reading putting the pre-market gain at 7.4% and another pointing to a 14% advance during the session. Neither source establishes a causal link between the price action and the drilling update — and investors would be wrong to read the move as confirmation of the find's economic quality. What the market is reacting to, at most, is exploration progress.
Quarterly loss and a busy investor calendar
Separately from the exploration story, Copper One published quarterly figures on Wednesday. For the quarter ended 30 June 2026, it reported earnings per share of -0.15 CAD. That number belongs to the financial reporting track and says nothing about the quality or worth of the mineralization observed at Majuba Hill.
The same day, the company confirmed it will attend Market Bridge Live 2026 in London on 4 November, followed by the Munich Mining Conference on 6–7 November. Those appearances give management a platform to present its story to investors, but they are no substitute for lab results.
What would actually move the needle
Until assay data confirm the visual observations, the headline remains a first completed hole with visible copper — and open questions on grade and economic viability. The company has been explicit that laboratory analysis is the necessary next step, and that is the yardstick by which the result should ultimately be judged.
