DroneShield is stacking up the kind of operational milestones that usually move a defence tech name — a completed US vehicle integration, a fresh research hub in Adelaide, a first sale for an AI-powered sensor and a new finance chief waiting in the wings. The market, for its part, has barely blinked.

The Sydney-listed counter finished Friday at EUR 1.01, a gain of 1.0% on the day, valuing the drone-countermeasure specialist at EUR 924.63 million. That close still sits 73% below the 52-week high of EUR 3.79, a gap that frames every piece of good news the company has released in recent weeks.

Contracted Revenue Reaches 251 Million AUD

Roughly two weeks ago, DroneShield lifted its secured order book for fiscal 2026 to 251 million AUD, putting it inside the guidance band of 250 million to 270 million AUD. Management has also locked in 46 million AUD of contracted revenue for fiscal 2027 and beyond, giving the group a longer runway as it scales capacity to meet demand from Western armed forces.

DroneSentry-X Mk2 Reaches Initial Operating Capability

On the hardware side, the company wrapped installation, delivery and acceptance testing of its DroneSentry-X Mk2 on US Infantry Squad Vehicles under the JIATF-401 programme just over a week ago, alongside operator training for the troops involved. That work brought the system to initial operational capability on the light tactical vehicles. A modification to the existing contract will add three further units, extending the push to standardise counter-drone kit across wheeled platforms.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying DroneShield?

Adelaide Lab and a Laser Effector

DroneShield is also deepening its own engineering base. At the Lot Fourteen technology precinct in Adelaide it has opened an R&D facility equipped with software development space and dry laboratories, focused on sensors, software, embedded systems, communications and electronic warfare. Around 20 specialist engineering roles are planned for the site.

In parallel, the company is widening its intercept options by wiring the Fractl high-energy laser into its open DroneSentry architecture. Pairing the laser effector with the existing detection and countermeasure stack adds directed energy to the portfolio, a combination the company sees as central to how it positions itself against more complex threat scenarios.

First RfRecon Order From a European Customer

The newer product line notched a commercial win as well. According to media reports, DroneShield booked its first order for RfRecon, its AI-driven reconnaissance device, from an existing Western European military customer, with delivery scheduled by the end of 2026. Industry observers read the deal as validation of the company's evolving sensor portfolio.

Rebecca Lowde to Take the CFO Seat

Leadership is shifting too. DroneShield named Rebecca Lowde as its next Chief Financial Officer, effective 2 November 2026. She succeeds Carla Balanco, who departs after more than eight years with the company. Lowde brings three decades of experience spanning CEO and senior finance roles, including a stint at software firm MYOB where she oversaw debt refinancing and operating earnings growth — a track record the board expects to lean on as the business scales globally.

With a filled order book, expanded research capacity and a seasoned finance chief in place, DroneShield has set its pieces for the growth it is targeting. The coming quarters will show how efficiently those contracted orders convert into profit.
