First Phosphate Clinches 10% Friday Gain as Conference Blitz and Management Hire Refocus Investors on Quebec LFP Ambitions
Published on 10/10/2026 at 19:01 | Editorial boerse-global.deFirst Phosphate shares closed Friday's session at EUR 1.33, a 10% jump that arrived without a single regulatory filing from the company. Market participants, according to media reports, could not pin the advance on any one announcement — yet the move has thrust the Canadian explorer's strategic roadmap back into the spotlight.
What the week did deliver was a packed schedule of investor appearances. On Wednesday, First Phosphate took its "mine-to-market" concept to the Global Markets Forum, laying out its vision for a North American supply chain serving lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. Alexis de la Renaudi, the company's Director of Business Development, walked attendees through progress at its Quebec project during that session.
The same day brought a second platform: the 20th International Investment Forum, where management addressed state funding commitments, planned offtake arrangements and the development timeline ahead. Press coverage indicates that feasibility studies, permitting work and project execution still lie ahead before first production can be targeted for late 2029 or early 2030.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying First Phosphate?
Thursday added a third stop — Noble Capital Markets' Emerging Growth Virtual Equity Conference — with the Bégin-Lamarche property in Quebec front and center as the intended feedstock base for the broader North American chain.
Rossignol Hire Adds Regional Firepower
The outreach push has been matched by personnel moves. Sandra Rossignol joined First Phosphate as Director of Strategy and Public Affairs on October 2, arriving from her prior role as President and CEO of the Saguenay–Le Fjord Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Her regional ties map directly onto the area where the company's project sits.
Operationally, the company has been advancing on several fronts in Quebec. Roughly three weeks ago it confirmed phosphate quality at the Bégin-Lamarche deposit. Around the same window, it secured a letter of intent from the Swiss Export Risk Insurance agency (SERV) — a potential project financing support package of up to USD 212.5 million. That document remains an expression of intent rather than a binding funding commitment.
Milestones Known, Execution Pending
Even with Friday's outsized move, the presentations largely recapped milestones the market had already absorbed. Whether the LFP supply chain materializes on schedule now hinges on the coming feasibility studies and regulatory approvals landing on time, ahead of the production window eyed for the end of the decade. The stock has climbed 89% since the start of the year.
