Healthineers Picks Its Board and Trims Its Name While Analysts Spar Over the 2027 Story
Published on 11/07/2026 at 16:22 | Editorial boerse-global.deSiemens Healthineers has handed shareholders a governance and branding agenda to chew on alongside a set of analyst notes that point in sharply different directions. The medical-technology group said on Wednesday it will ask its 2027 annual general meeting to elect four new shareholder representatives to the supervisory board: Melanie Kreis, Heyo Kroemer, Jonathan Lewin and Pascale Witz.
Roland Busch is to leave the board ahead of schedule, while the mandates of Veronika Bienert, Marion Helmes and Karl-Heinz Streibich expire at that same meeting. The boardroom reshuffle lands as the company prepares to stand on its own, a separation that also underpins its plan to shorten the corporate name to "Healthineers."
That rebrand is set to start in 2027 and run for three years. The legal change still needs the blessing of the AGM on 18.02.2027, and Siemens has said the launch is intended to follow registration of the planned spin-off.
Barclays Lifts Its Target, Berenberg Stays Cool
On the valuation side, Barclays raised its price target to €51 from €47.50 on Monday, according to media reports, keeping its "Overweight" rating. Analyst Hassan Al-Wakeel tied his optimism for 2027 to the product cycle he expects to deliver fresh momentum.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Siemens Healthineers?
Berenberg is not convinced. The broker reiterated a €40 target on Thursday, with analyst Sam England noting that the mid-point of the forecast for adjusted earnings per share in fiscal 2026/27 sits below consensus. Two other research houses reaffirmed their positive ratings on Thursday after the quarterly figures, carrying targets between €44.50 and €50.
Deutsche Bank Research came in more guarded, sticking with "Hold" and a €39 target after the annual numbers. Analyst Falko Friedrichs called the quarterly results mixed and singled out Precision Therapy as a point of concern. Another house also reiterated a hold rating and a €39 target on Monday following the annual figures.
The shares closed at €44.70 on Friday — below Barclays' upgraded target but above Berenberg's mark.
Cost Cuts Reach the Payroll
Behind the split verdicts sits a savings drive with real consequences for staff. Reuters reported on Thursday that €400m in planned cuts at Olyrian Diagnostics and at least €300m at Healthineers are in the works. Finance chief Jochen Schmitz said the measures would affect jobs, according to the report.
A further programme, dubbed "Transform4 Future," is slated to run between 2028 and 2030. Reuters cited cost burdens tied to the planned diagnostics separation, the split from the Siemens group and the refocusing of the ultrasound business as the drivers.

Buyback Rolls On
Meanwhile, the company keeps mopping up its own stock. Siemens Healthineers reported on Monday that it bought back 50,000 shares between 26 October and 1 November inclusive. The cumulative volume under the mandatory disclosure for the period from 1 June through 1 November came to 3,629,346 shares.
Investors get their next formal checkpoint on 09.11.2026, when a roadshow with J.P. Morgan takes place in London. The annual report for fiscal 2026 is scheduled for release on 25.11.2026.
