Siemens Healthineers has put a price tag on its restructuring: roughly €300 million in expected cost burdens tied to the carve-out of its in-vitro diagnostics business, the separation from Siemens and a sharper focus on ultrasound. Finance chief Jochen Schmitz disclosed the figure on Thursday, the same day the medical-technology group rolled out guidance for fiscal 2027 that fell short of what analysts had been modeling.

A Profit Range That Sits Below 2026

For 2027, Healthineers projects comparable revenue growth of 4.0–5.0% and adjusted unadjusted earnings per share of €2.20–2.40. The entire earnings band sits under the €2.42 adjusted unadjusted EPS the company reported on Thursday for fiscal 2026. Growth, too, comes in lighter than the 5.5% revenue increase analysts had penciled in, according to Reuters, while their EPS estimate of €2.37 falls inside the guided range.

Persistent weakness in China and a shrinking diagnostics business were cited by Reuters as the drags. Comparable revenue in that division dropped 4.2% in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026. Groupwide, the closing quarter was stronger: comparable sales rose 5.9%, and the adjusted EBIT margin reached 15.9%. Shares came under pressure on Thursday following the annual report and the outlook.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Siemens Healthineers?

Olyrian Takes Shape, and So Does a New Savings Drive

The diagnostics unit is being carved out step by step into a standalone organization under the name Olyrian Diagnostics, with the transition phase expected to wrap up by mid-2028. A further efficiency program, dubbed "Transform4 Future," will accompany the realignment and is slated to begin in 2028, with measures implemented between 2028 and 2030. Reuters reported the planned savings at a minimum of €300 million at Healthineers and another €400 million at Olyrian Diagnostics.

Greater distance from Siemens also brings a change of name: the company will become "Healthineers," subject to shareholder approval at the annual meeting in February 2027. The brand switch is to begin after the planned spin-off from Siemens and run over three years.

Barclays Lifts Its Target, Deutsche Bank Stays on the Sideline

Barclays raised its price target to €51 from €47.50 on Friday and kept its "Overweight" rating, with analyst Hassan Al-Wakeel pointing to an expected strong product cycle in 2027. Deutsche Bank Research left the stock at "Hold" after the figures, with a €39 target unchanged. The next confirmed investor date is a roadshow with JPMorgan in London on November 9, 2026.

Four New Names Proposed for the Supervisory Board

Changes are also in store on the supervisory board. On Wednesday the board said it will propose Melanie Kreis, Heyo Kroemer, Jonathan Lewin and Pascale Witz as new shareholder representatives at the 2027 annual meeting. Roland Busch is to step down, while the mandates of Veronika Bienert, Marion Helmes and Karl-Heinz Streibich expire in the ordinary course. Ralf Thomas and Peter Körte are to be put forward for re-election.
