Heidelberg Druck Ties Georgia Open House to First Jetfire 50 Sales on Both Sides of the Canadian Border

Heidelberger Druckmaschinen chose the launch of its Print Media Center Americas in Marietta, Georgia, to put hardware behind the rhetoric of its digital push — confirming the first North American placements of the Jetfire 50 digital press alongside the facility's official opening.
The two orders carve up the continent neatly. CJ Graphics of Canada secured the first Jetfire 50 unit sold anywhere in North America, while Lake County Press of Illinois logged the first US sale. Keeping those milestones apart matters: they describe separate market entries for the same product line rather than a single regional breakthrough, and neither represents revenue already booked. What they do provide is tangible evidence that Heidelberg is converting prospects into customers, with execution on delivery now the yardstick investors will apply.
A Broader Order Book Beyond the Digital Line
North America was not the only source of commercial news. Route 1 Print, the British online printing specialist owned by the Bluetree Group, has ordered two Speedmaster XL 106-8P presses as part of a GBP 12 million investment program. Heidelberg expects the configuration to lift productivity by as much as 40 percent versus the outgoing fleet — a projected gain, not a verified one, but a selling point that links capital spending to a measurable operational payoff.
Software found a buyer too. Sade Ofset Packaging & Label in Istanbul has adopted Prinect Production, the central workflow platform that Heidelberg says integrates prepress, printing and production planning. Add those to the press orders and the picture is one of machines, workflow tools and service revenue moving in parallel.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Heidelberger Druckmaschinen?
Gallus Handover Adds a Leadership Variable
Personnel changes are running alongside the sales activity at Heidelberg's Gallus label-printing subsidiary. Uwe Boerner took over global sales on October 1, succeeding Thomas Schweizer, according to media reports. A separate transition is also in motion: Michael Bsirske is set to serve as interim managing director, with incumbent Dario Urbinati moving to the administrative board of Gallus Ferd. RĂĽesch AG on November 1, 2026, and slated to assume its presidency from January 1, 2027. Keeping label operations steady through that handover is the task at hand.
The Market Is Not Waiting for Proof
Shareholders have yet to be convinced. The stock closed Friday at EUR 1.38, down 32 percent since the start of the year — a decline that lays bare how much skepticism still surrounds the durability of any upturn. The central risk is that caution across the global printing industry keeps larger investment waves from materializing; a handful of shipments to Illinois or Canada cannot offset a broad slump in demand. Should customers postpone bigger procurement plans, margins in the press-building business would come under quick pressure. The Georgia demonstration center, meanwhile, absorbs capital that only future sales can recoup.
Technically, the chart offers one clear line in the sand. Holding the 52-week low of EUR 1.29 would keep alive the possibility of stabilization and suggest the market may have found a floor. A break below it would open the door to a deeper correction and fresh lows, with the Gallus reshuffle the next scheduled checkpoint.
The bar is straightforward: until the US sales announcements are followed by measurable order intake, the shares lack the fundamental support needed for a sustained recovery. Marietta's opening and the first Jetfire 50 commitments in both North American markets stand as the most concrete progress so far — and as the first real test of whether the digital strategy can scale beyond reference deals.
