Hochtief's Order Book Swells From Cumbria to Cambodia as Macro Headwinds Clip the Stock

Hochtief has stacked up a trio of long-dated contract wins across three continents, even as its share price ran into a broad European selloff. The Essen-based builder's stock shed 2.3% on Wednesday to close at EUR 401.00, dragged down by a weak continental market rather than anything company-specific.
Rising crude prices and climbing bond yields — French sovereign paper in particular — sapped risk appetite across Europe, according to Reuters and dpa-AFX. Both the DAX and MDAX opened in the red, and Hochtief had no way to sidestep the downdraft. The pullback does little to dent the year-to-date picture: the shares are still up 20% since January.
Sellafield Hands Over PACE Lot 2
The headline win came on September 30, when Sellafield Ltd picked Hochtief Infrastructure for Lot 2 of the PACE framework at the UK nuclear site. The package carries an estimated value of GBP 1.5 billion, or roughly EUR 1.75 billion. dpa reports a firm nine-year base term with an option to extend by six more, covering operations, maintenance and construction work at the Cumbrian facility over a stretch of up to 15 years.
For Hochtief, the award locks in substantial capacity with a state-backed client and cements its standing in the niche of complex decommissioning and upkeep work — a segment where long framework agreements deliver a dependable revenue stream and sharpen visibility on future cash flows.

Turner Joins Air Force Roster, Sedgman Takes Jervois
Stateside, the US Air Force selected Hochtief subsidiary Turner as one of eight contractors lined up for the FARM III program. The framework carries a shared ceiling of USD 900 million and runs through September 4, 2034.
In the Pacific, CIMIC unit Sedgman landed an award from KGL Resources for the Jervois copper project in Australia, covering engineering, procurement and construction of the processing plant — announced on October 1.
The pipeline extends further still. Leighton Asia picked up a data center project in Hong Kong, and mining contractor Thiess extended its service agreement for the Okvau gold project in Cambodia by two years.
