Infineon closed a three-year supply agreement for power semiconductors with Vertiv on Wednesday, according to media reports, adding a major data-centre customer to a product and partnership pipeline that has expanded on nearly every day of the past week.

The Vertiv deal sits alongside a string of other announcements. On Tuesday the company launched its OptiMOS-7 40V MOSFET family for AI servers, data centres and telecommunications infrastructure; the portfolio is available and already in series production. A day earlier, Infineon agreed a microcontroller-based design with Qualcomm Technologies for Qualcomm's Snapdragon Ride reference platforms, aimed at high-performance computing and AI in vehicles.

High-voltage DC push and the SOLUM memorandum

Infineon's cooperation with SOLUM, sealed in a memorandum of understanding signed on Thursday, targets high-voltage direct-current solutions for AI data centres. The two companies plan to extend their work to DC-DC intermediate bus converters, battery backup units and power supplies — a scope that, by Infineon's account, covers several components of the power supply chain. Unlike the OptiMOS-7 family, which is already shipping, the SOLUM arrangement remains at the letter-of-intent stage.

Automotive silicon featured twice in the week's news. The AURIX RC1 family, unveiled on Wednesday, is Infineon's first microcontroller platform built on the open RISC-V standard, aimed at software-defined vehicles and physical AI, with samples scheduled for the first half of 2027. The Qualcomm collaboration, announced on Monday, addresses real-time processing and control in the same vehicle architectures.

GaN capacity bet and a date with the market

Manufacturing capacity is expanding too. On 27 October Infineon announced a European high-volume production line for GaN power semiconductors on 300-millimetre wafers, a project media reports value at roughly EUR 1.1 billion.

Investors now turn to 10 November, when Infineon intends to publish results for the fourth quarter and the 2026 fiscal year — a date the company describes as provisional. The figures will land after a stretch in which product launches and partnership news have competed for attention with a sharp selloff in US technology and semiconductor stocks. dpa-AFX attributed Thursday's pressure on Infineon's shares to that broader retreat, tracing the trigger to concerns that political majorities in the United States could slow the build-out of AI data centres.

The stock steadied after the previous day's decline, gaining 1.8% to close at EUR 45.85 at the end of the week. Analyst sentiment has stayed firmly positive through the volatility: JPMorgan reaffirmed its "Overweight" rating and EUR 96 price target on Wednesday, while Jefferies kept its buy recommendation and the same EUR 96 target on Monday, both within a sector study on investment in cloud and data-centre infrastructure.

Infineon has also flagged a presentation of its technology portfolio at electronica in Munich from 10 to 13 November, putting its product story in front of the industry just as the quarterly numbers arrive.
