Shares in ITM Power advanced 3.0% to EUR 1.09 on Thursday, extending the previous session's close of EUR 1.06, after the Sheffield-based electrolyser maker sharpened its operating loss guidance for the financial year just ended.

The company now expects an adjusted loss before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation of GBP 20 million to GBP 21 million for the twelve months to 30 April 2026 — a 27% reduction against its earlier target. Measured against the prior financial year, the shortfall narrows by 38%. Guidance for revenue and cash resources was left untouched, meaning the revision reflects tighter cost control rather than any change to the top line.

Reporting Calendar Takes Centre Stage

With the profitability picture improved, attention is shifting to a crowded corporate diary. ITM Power has confirmed it will publish preliminary annual results on 19 October 2026, a date investors are treating as the key test of how durable those savings have proven.

The annual shareholder meeting follows on 30 October, convened under a notice issued on Monday. One wrinkle stands out: the 2026 annual report will not be put before investors at that gathering. Instead, ITM Power intends to present the document at a separate general meeting to be held at a later date, pushing formal consideration of the accounts further down the road.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying ITM Power?

A Custodian Sale, Not a CFO Trade

Alongside the guidance update, a regulatory filing disclosed a small transaction in the holdings of CFO Amy Grey. Her custodian disposed of 111 ordinary shares at GBP 1.0053 apiece on 1 October to cover account maintenance fees. The notification states the sale was carried out without Grey's prior knowledge or instruction.

The disposal lands amid a run of operational developments at the British group. Roughly a fortnight ago ITM Power shipped electrolyser stacks, while about a month earlier it secured a grant award and saw executives add to their stakes. More than a month back, the first green hydrogen began flowing at Lingen.

What the Numbers Must Now Prove

By narrowing the loss range while holding revenue and cash targets steady, ITM Power has bought itself room ahead of its results. The adjustment points squarely to improved cost management rather than any reassessment of demand.

ITM Power at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.

For the market, 19 October is now the date that matters. The detailed figures will show whether the savings achieved can carry the operating business over the longer haul.
