Lenzing Completes EUR 301 Million Cash Call, Shifts Heiligenkreuz Shutdown Into 2027
Published on 10/28/2026 at 11:22 | Editorial boerse-global.deLenzing has wrapped up a capital increase that brought in roughly EUR 301.2 million in gross proceeds, money the fibre maker intends to channel into its "Grow Nonwovens, Reset Textiles" strategy while shoring up its balance sheet. The transaction closed about a week ago and forms part of a broader overhaul of the group, according to Reuters.
New Shares Priced at EUR 8.65
The company issued 34,756,362 new shares at a subscription price of EUR 8.65 apiece. Existing shareholders took up 99% of the offering, with the syndicate banks placing the remainder on the market. Following registration of the increase, Lenzing's share capital stands at EUR 76,204,702.90, spread across 73,374,542 voting rights.
Syndicate members subscribed to a combined 18,159,291 of the new shares under the rights issue, the company's mandatory disclosure shows. Georg Kasperkovitz also reported a share purchase made within the framework of the rights offering.

Ownership Shifts After the Cash Call
The voting-rights notice published in the wake of the capital measure leaves the B&C and Suzano syndicate holding roughly 52.25%. Suzano International Trade GmbH accounts for 12.60% on its own, while Suzano Holding S.A. picked up stock outside the syndicate equal to about 0.80% of voting rights. At NN Group, the reported stake climbed from 2.54% to 4.27%, with the notice naming Friday as the threshold-touch date.
Heiligenkreuz Closure Pushed to Q1 2027
Alongside the refinancing, Lenzing confirmed a delay to the planned shutdown of its Heiligenkreuz plant. The site will now close in the first quarter of 2027 rather than at the end of 2026, a company spokesperson told APA on 22 October, verifying an earlier report. Around 285 employees are affected. Lenzing attributed the postponement to the transfer of production to other locations.
The equity move and the plant timeline have both weighed on the stock at points. Shares fell 5.1% yesterday to close at EUR 9.93, with Reuters noting that the capital increase announced in early October had pressured the paper. The stock was trading at EUR 10.24 today, up 3.1%.
Q3 Figures Due 5 November
Investors get their next look at the business on 5 November 2026, when Lenzing reports third-quarter 2026 results. The update lands after the completed capital increase and the confirmed rescheduling of the Heiligenkreuz closure, with the production transfer remaining the company's stated reason for the later date.
