Nobu Hotels Pushes Check-In Times Below Two Minutes With Portfolio-Wide Tech Rollout

The luxury hospitality sector has long wrestled with a stubborn paradox: front-desk staff spend so much time on paperwork that they barely have room for the personal touch guests pay premium rates to experience. A new wave of automation is now chipping away at that problem, with one major hotel group betting that a single digital platform can reshape arrival procedures across its entire global footprint.
Nobu Hotels has committed to deploying the Staff Connect platform from technology provider Hudini across all of its properties, following an agreement announced in July 2026. The move transforms what was previously a selective pilot program into a standardized, group-wide digital infrastructure. Company leadership expects the unified system to deliver consistent service quality across multiple continents while still allowing individual properties to preserve their local character.
The decision rests on data from earlier implementation phases that point to dramatic efficiency gains. According to Hudini, the platform absorbs up to 90 percent of the manual tasks traditionally tied to guest check-in, including data capture, identity verification, and the distribution of room information. For travelers, the practical effect is a process that now takes under two minutes from start to finish, a stark contrast to the queues and form-heavy rituals that have long defined hotel arrivals.
That speed carries a secondary benefit that speaks directly to the industry's chronic staffing shortages. Reception employees freed from repetitive administrative duties can redirect their attention toward actual guest interaction — offering recommendations, resolving requests, and providing the kind of individualized service that distinguishes a memorable stay from a merely functional one.
The path to this portfolio-wide rollout has been deliberately incremental. Nobu began testing the technology in 2025 at two pioneer locations: the Nobu Hotel Toronto and the Nobu Hotel Barcelona. Those properties served as live laboratories, allowing the group to refine system interfaces and iron out compatibility issues with existing hotel management software under real operating conditions.
Throughout 2026, the implementation continued to expand, with the Nobu Hotel Los Cabos integrating the platform into its day-to-day operations. The feedback gathered there on scalability and guest acceptance proved decisive. It gave the group the confidence to extend the Hudini partnership across the entire collection, having used the phased approach to define technical requirements precisely and prepare staff for the shift in workflows well ahead of the full deployment.
