Nokia Clinches Hotwire Network Deal and NVIDIA Agent Platform as Rosenblatt Trims Target but Keeps Buy Rating
Published on 11/08/2026 at 01:20 | Editorial boerse-global.deNokia shares advanced 3.5% yesterday, riding a rebound in AI-related equities after two straight sessions of selling. According to AP, the recovery followed a sharp global selloff in the sector, and media reports indicated the Finnish vendor moved in step with optical communications names. Reuters had reported substantial losses across technology, chip and data-center stocks on Thursday, pointing to concerns about investment in AI infrastructure. The Friday gain is therefore best understood as a sector-wide swing rather than a reaction to any single company announcement.
A Long-Range Bet on AI Traffic
Nokia offered a longer-term view of network demand on Wednesday with its Global Network Traffic Report, which projects that artificial intelligence will account for 44% of worldwide network traffic by 2035. Monthly data volumes are expected to approach 3,789 exabytes by then.
That forecast sits alongside a string of announced projects for putting AI to work in telecom networks, spanning a commercial field trial and a platform for autonomously operating networks. On October 20, Nokia and SoftBank agreed to a commercial field trial of AI-driven radio access networks in Japan, scheduled for 2027 — an arrangement that initially covers testing of the technology. A day later, Nokia and NVIDIA announced progress on AI-powered radio access networks en route to commercial deployment, while also unveiling a sovereign platform with AI agents for autonomous telecommunications networks.

Hotwire Picks Nokia for North Carolina Build
Hotwire Communications has selected Nokia to build a next-generation network in North Carolina, designed to be ready for AI infrastructure. Nokia did not disclose a contract value. The project will use the Nokia 7750 Service Router, and according to the company the network is due to go live in early 2027.
Beyond AI networking, Nokia is pursuing another partnership: roughly two weeks ago, Nokia and ICEYE signed a letter of intent with Ukraine's Ministry of Defense. The partners plan to explore opportunities for cooperation on sovereign satellite communications.
Rosenblatt Cuts Target, Keeps Buy
On the valuation side, Rosenblatt had already adopted a more cautious yardstick on October 23, when Mike Genovese lowered his Nokia price target to $14 from $15 while maintaining his buy recommendation. Genovese cited lower valuation multiples among comparable companies. The cut thus reflected the peer group's valuation, even as Rosenblatt stuck with its positive rating on Nokia.
