Nordex closed Friday's session at EUR 35.66, up 3.8%, as investors welcomed a fresh batch of international contracts. The gain, reported by dpa-AFX, marked a recovery for the Hamburg-based wind turbine manufacturer following a string of weaker trading days.

The rally was fueled by concrete sales wins. On Wednesday, Nordex announced orders from Turkey totaling 389 MW, covering the delivery and installation of 56 wind turbines slated for execution in 2027 and 2028. The agreements also include multi-year service and maintenance contracts.

That announcement followed a Tuesday disclosure of additional deals across Southern, Central and Eastern Europe. Those orders span roughly 228 MW across 35 turbines, with service agreements running for up to 25 years — a detail that strengthens visibility into future revenue from the higher-margin service segment.

Both packages tie equipment sales to long-term maintenance arrangements, a combination that offers a tangible positive business signal. Yet the service component alone does not reveal how individual contracts will contribute to earnings.

RBC Keeps Its Distance

Not everyone shares the market's optimism. RBC Capital Markets reiterated its "Underperform" rating on Nordex on Friday, ahead of the company's quarterly results, with a price target of EUR 36. Analyst Mark Fielding cited potential political constraints that could complicate business in the German market — a risk factor rather than an existing restriction.

Fielding also noted that while revenue momentum in the industrial goods sector is improving despite lingering economic risks, upside potential for the stock remains limited at current levels. The distinction matters for investors: incoming orders and possible regulatory burdens affect different sides of the business equation.

Following Friday's close, the share price sits just below RBC's target. The stock also trades 7.9% below its 50-day moving average of EUR 38.73, reflecting the recent pullback.

Two Tests Ahead

Nordex has scheduled the release of detailed third-quarter 2026 results for October 30. Market participants will scrutinize the report for signs of how profitably the company is working through its order backlog in the second half of the year.

For now, investors face two distinct yardsticks: the breadth of order intake and the potential political headwinds in the German market. The recent contracts bolster the demand side of the story, while RBC's cautious assessment serves as a reminder that a strong order book does not, by itself, capture every business risk.
