Nordex has secured its first-ever order from New Zealand, opening a fresh market for the German wind turbine maker just as it reported a strong third quarter of 2026. The contract, announced on 22 October, comes from utility Mercury, which ordered 40 N133/4.8 turbines for the Puke Kapo Hau wind farm, totalling 192 MW of capacity. A 30-year service agreement is bundled into the deal, extending Nordex's involvement well beyond turbine delivery.

The New Zealand breakthrough was one of two order announcements the company has made in recent weeks. Roughly a fortnight earlier, DenkerWulf placed an order for nine N149/5.X turbines for the Bredenbek wind farm in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Those units account for 51.3 MW combined, and the contract includes a 20-year premium service package.

Quarterly Figures Beat Year-Earlier Levels

Revenue for the three months reached EUR 2,186.6 million, an increase of 28.2% year on year. EBITDA more than doubled to EUR 278.2 million, producing a margin of 12.7%. Net profit came in at EUR 147.1 million, while free cash flow was EUR 379.1 million.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Nordex?

Order intake in the projects segment hit 2,810 MW during the quarter, up 29.5% on the same period a year earlier. As of 30 September, Nordex's order backlog stood at EUR 19.3 billion. Management left its full-year 2026 revenue guidance unchanged at EUR 8.2–9.0 billion.

Analysts Reaffirm Bullish Stance

Deutsche Bank Research reiterated its buy rating on Friday following the quarterly report, keeping a price target of EUR 59. Jefferies also confirmed its "Buy" call with an unchanged EUR 63 target.

Shares climbed 4.3% on Friday in the wake of the results. dpa-AFX pointed to broader demand for renewable-energy stocks and a more favourable political climate following the US Democrats' victory in the midterm elections as additional tailwinds for the sector, though the report was not confirmed as the sole driver of the move.
