Novo Nordisk has accelerated the international launch schedule for its Wegovy pill, telling Reuters on Wednesday that it now expects to reach more than 20 countries by mid-2027 — a pull-forward from its earlier target of the end of that year. The Danish drugmaker credited faster regulatory approvals and stronger manufacturing capacity for the tighter timeline, which widens both the scope and the speed of the rollout.

The oral formulation is already contributing to the top line. Novo Nordisk reported Wednesday that the Wegovy pill generated revenue of DKK 5.39 billion. Adjusted group sales rose 4% at constant exchange rates to DKK 79.20 billion, while adjusted operating profit climbed 27% on the same basis to DKK 31.7 billion — outpacing the sales growth rate by a wide margin.

Alongside those figures, the company raised its growth expectations for adjusted sales and adjusted operating profit. Both measures are now guided to a range of minus 2% to plus 2% at constant currencies for the 2026 financial year, up from the previous forecast of minus 6% to 0%.

Clinical Data Pile Up Ahead of Two Major Congresses

Novo Nordisk also released results from observational studies of Wegovy at a 2.4 mg dose on Wednesday. In adults with MASH, the data showed associations with reductions in weight, liver enzyme levels and blood glucose. The company was careful to stress that the retrospective analyses cannot establish cause and effect.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Novo Nordisk?

The liver program will get a fuller airing at The Liver Meeting in Denver from November 5–9, where Novo Nordisk has slated twelve scientific presentations covering semaglutide as well as efruxifermin, a candidate still in development. That announcement was made on October 28. Separately, the company plans to present data from 26 scientific abstracts at ObesityWeek, running November 14–17, 2026, including analyses of CagriSema and real-world evidence on use of the Wegovy tablet. Those plans were disclosed on October 29.

Abbott Deal Expands, Korro Bio Pact Ends

On the commercial front, Abbott said Thursday it would broaden its partnership with Novo Nordisk to market Plosbrio in Singapore and other Asia-Pacific markets. The product is a second brand of Ozempic semaglutide that Novo Nordisk develops and manufactures.

Another collaboration is winding down. Novo Nordisk informed Korro Bio on Tuesday that it is terminating their research collaboration and license agreement effective February 1, 2027. According to Korro Bio, the upfront payment already received and other amounts paid are non-refundable.

CFO Change Adds to the Week's News Flow

The company also announced Wednesday that finance chief Karsten Munk Knudsen will leave at the end of the year. Luigi La Corte, currently CFO of Galderma, has been named as his successor.

Analysts, meanwhile, remain divided on the stock. Bernstein reiterated its sell rating on Thursday with a price target of DKK 223, according to media reports. Citi also weighed in Thursday, lifting its target to DKK 298 from DKK 296 while keeping a neutral rating — a change to the number, not to the verdict.
