Nvidia shares fell 2.6% on Friday, closing at €183.56 as a broad selloff in technology and semiconductor names dragged the sector lower. Disappointing quarterly results from Intel and Amazon deepened investor anxiety over the cost and profitability of artificial intelligence spending, according to Reuters. Against that nervous backdrop, a fresh report about how Nvidia might help bankroll future AI capacity drew close attention.

Guarantees Discussed, Not Agreed

Reuters reported Friday, citing a story in The Information, that Nvidia is in talks to provide billions of dollars in credit guarantees to Nscale. The backstop would support third-party borrowing for a data center intended for use by Anthropic. Nvidia has not confirmed the discussions, and no agreement had been signed as of the report; terms could still change.

The distinction matters. What is under discussion is a guarantee of loans, not an announced direct investment in the data center, and it should not be treated as a completed financing or a secured additional order for Nvidia. Even so, the report highlights a second front in the AI build-out: beyond demand for more computing power, investors must now weigh how that infrastructure gets funded and what financial obligations Nvidia itself might take on.

Wedbush weighed in Friday, saying such credit support could keep AI infrastructure financing flowing and underpin demand for Nvidia products. The assessment addressed the reported talks and did not constitute a change to a rating or price target. The upside of a possible demand lifeline thus sits alongside uncertainty over whether a deal is reached at all.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Nvidia?

Confirmed Deals Pair Demand With Capital

Unlike the unconfirmed Nscale talks, several partnerships are already on the record. On October 27, Nvidia and Meta announced an expanded collaboration around Meta's Muse model family and AI infrastructure, with Meta planning to broaden its use of Nvidia systems. Nvidia also said it intends to invest $3 billion in Meta's equity offering — tying infrastructure expansion directly to a planned capital commitment.

The same day, Nvidia and Oracle unveiled plans to scale Oracle Cloud Infrastructure superclusters using Nvidia systems to a multi-gigawatt footprint. According to Nvidia, Vera Rubin NVL72 and Vera CPUs were generally available on OCI. These projects demonstrate concrete expansion ambitions, though on their own they do not settle the profitability question that has been dogging the sector.

November 17 Becomes the Next Test

Nvidia scheduled its third-quarter fiscal 2027 earnings call for November 17, having set the date on Wednesday; the quarter ended October 25. That call is the next fixed checkpoint for judging how the announced expansion actually shows up in the numbers.

Nvidia at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.

Until then, pledged infrastructure projects and possible financing support must be kept separate from results already booked. For the stock, the size of the build-out is only half the story — how much of it converts into durable business is the other.
