OHB Slips as Tech-Wide Selloff Overshadows Moon Study Win and MediaMobil Stake
Published on 11/03/2026 at 19:10 | Editorial boerse-global.deA global retreat from technology stocks weighed on European bourses on Tuesday, and OHB SE found itself caught in the downdraft. The Bremen-based space and satellite group's shares shed 3.0% to trade at EUR 211.50, with market watchers pointing to Reuters-reported concerns over returns on heavy artificial-intelligence investment and a margin warning from Apple as the forces driving the broader tech selloff.
The pullback came despite a busy fortnight of corporate news flow. Chief among the developments was a mandate from the European Space Agency, which on 19 October tasked OHB subsidiary OHB System AG with carrying out feasibility and preliminary design studies for the OASIS lunar infrastructure project. The work is squarely focused on investigating and pre-planning the infrastructure the venture envisages.
Astroscale Pact Still at Discussion Stage
Alongside the ESA award, OHB signed a memorandum of understanding with Astroscale Holdings Inc. roughly a week ago. The two sides will explore potential cooperation across space safety, space situational awareness and in-orbit services. No specific contracts or financial contributions were disclosed, and the arrangement remains a non-binding declaration of intent — a markedly different status from the OASIS studies, which the ESA has already commissioned.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying OHB SE?
On the equity side, OHB acquired a 25% stake in MediaMobil Communication GmbH through a capital increase, also about a week ago. Media reports indicate the transaction has now closed, giving OHB a firm holding in the company rather than the exploratory footing of the Astroscale talks.
Mainz Test Stand Cleared Under EU-Backed Program
Separately, OHB Digital Connect wrapped up the EU-funded Eu-BEST project on 22 October, having completed construction and final acceptance of the test stand at its Mainz site. The European Union backed the initiative, launched on 1 November 2023, to the tune of EUR 4.96 million.
Before the quarterly figures land, analyst Chloe Lemarie had flagged expectations that OHB would extend the positive momentum built up over the first half of the year. She saw the group on track to meet its full-year targets, a view framed around business performance ahead of the upcoming reporting. Berenberg reportedly reaffirmed its buy recommendation on 27 October, with a price target of EUR 358.
The next confirmed date on OHB's calendar is 12 November, when the company will publish its results for the third quarter of 2026 and hold a subsequent conference call on the figures.
