Office workers in cramped flats and shared rooms are the target of a new height-adjustable desk from Japanese furniture brand Bauhutte, which promises sit-stand ergonomics without surrendering floor space.

The BHD-700C, due in October 2026, comes from Beads Co., the Osaka-based company behind the Bauhutte label. Its headline trick is a main worktop measuring just 70×45 cm, paired with a pull-out keyboard slider of 44×30 cm that carries a keyboard and mouse.

Height adjustment runs steplessly from 80 to 122 cm on the main surface. The keyboard tray tracks alongside it, travelling between 71.0 and 112.5 cm. According to the manufacturer, that range makes the desk suitable for standing work by users up to 190 cm tall — a common weak point of compact desks, which often leave taller users with little ergonomic headroom.

Reinforced frame, 40 kg ceiling

Compared with earlier versions, the BHD-700C uses a beefed-up tubular frame intended to keep the desk stable even at its top setting. Bauhutte rates the total load capacity at 40 kg, split between up to 35 kg on the main top and 5 kg on the keyboard slider.

Lockable castors come as standard, letting users shift the workstation around a room as the layout demands. For those who would rather the desk stayed put, height-adjustable feet are included as an alternative to the wheels. The details appeared in company announcements dated 23 October 2026.

A series with 30,000 sales behind it

The launch leans on the track record of its predecessors. Bauhutte says the BHD-700 line had sold more than 30,000 units in total as of October 2026.

Pricing follows an open model, with roughly 24,800 yen including tax given as a reference figure. Sales run through channels including Amazon Japan.

Bauhutte is pitching the desk at a persistent demand for flexible work furniture that lets people alternate between sitting and standing even when their living space is tight.
