Partners Group Splits €6.6 Billion Fund Into Old and New Pools as Withdrawal Requests Pile Up
Published on 11/08/2026 at 05:02 | Editorial boerse-global.dePartners Group is asking investors in its €6.6 billion Global Value SICAV to approve a structural overhaul that would carve the vehicle into two distinct portfolios, a move that comes as redemption requests mount across several of the firm's flagship funds.
The proposed umbrella would house one portfolio geared toward capital appreciation and another focused on income distribution, according to media reports. The net asset value of the fund stood at €6.6 billion at the end of August. Shareholders are scheduled to vote on the plan in the week beginning November 9, 2026.
A Quarterly Cap Cut in Half
Ahead of that ballot, Partners Group has already tightened the terms on one segment of the fund. In a letter to investors cited by a media outlet, the firm lowered the quarterly net redemption limit for the "New Share Classes" to 2.5% of net asset value, down from 5% previously.
The restructuring is widely read as a response to heavier redemption pressure, with the split designed to separate older assets from newer ones. That framing has done little to quiet questions about the liquidity profile of the evergreen vehicle.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Partners Group?
The same tension showed up in the firm's US private equity master fund. Investors submitted redemption requests totaling $2.2 billion during a third quarter, a figure the Financial Times reported as roughly 15% of net assets. Partners Group capped payouts at 5%, and the firm described the requests as consistent with guidance it had issued in July.
Betting on Young Renters Outside Paris
On the deployment side, Partners Group launched "French New Living" on Wednesday, a residential strategy aimed at young adults. The plan targets a gross asset value of €300 million across roughly 2,000 rental apartments.
Two forward-purchase agreements have already locked in 560 units in Choisy-le-Roi and Pantin, both in the greater Paris area. The forward-purchase mechanism lets the firm secure future housing before construction is complete, giving it a pipeline rather than a finished portfolio.

Three Hires for European Infrastructure
Partners Group is also staffing up its European infrastructure arm to support a mid-market direct investment strategy. Philip Butcher joins as a Managing Director in London starting November 2026, while Timm Degenhardt is set to come on board in Zug in March 2027. Sarah Johnson has been working as a Senior Lead Asset Manager since September 2026.
The shares finished Friday at €729.80, up 0.4% on the session.
