Pfizer's 352nd Straight Payout Meets a Fresh Analyst Upgrade

Pfizer shares advanced 2.4% on Wednesday to trade at EUR 24.98, pulling the stock back toward the 52-week high of EUR 25.54 it touched at the end of September. The move followed a one-two punch of positive developments: a raised price target from Scotiabank and a batch of late-stage clinical readouts that have reinvigorated the investment case for the US drugmaker.
Scotiabank lifted its target on the stock from USD 30 to USD 33 on Tuesday while keeping a "Sector Outperform" rating, a vote of confidence that media reports tie to recent momentum in Pfizer's clinical pipeline. Zacks Equity Research also carries the shares with a "Buy" rating, adding a second bullish voice on the sell side.
Late-Stage Wins in Immunology
The clinical news flow has been substantial. In the Phase 3 TRANQUILLO program, Pfizer's LITFULO produced a significant improvement in facial and total-body repigmentation compared with placebo in patients with non-segmental vitiligo. Buoyed by those results, the company intends to file regulatory submissions with authorities including the US Food and Drug Administration and the European Medicines Agency.
That announcement came on the heels of a separate success for Tilrekimig. In a Phase 2 study in moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis, the candidate hit its primary endpoint: across the doses tested, significantly more participants achieved at least a 75% improvement on the EASI skin score than those on placebo after 16 weeks of treatment. Pivotal Phase 3 trials of Tilrekimig in atopic dermatitis and asthma are already underway, according to the company.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Pfizer?
Florida Lawsuit and an Oncology Showcase
Not everything is running smoothly. Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has filed suit against Pfizer and its chairman and chief executive, Albert Bourla, alleging misleading statements about the safety and efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine. Pfizer rejected the claims as unfounded and stood behind the accuracy of its disclosures.
Investor attention is also turning to Madrid, where the European Society for Medical Oncology congress runs from October 23 to 27. Pfizer plans to present data from 45 scientific abstracts, including 11 oral presentations in cancer therapy.
A Dividend Streak Without Interruption
Income investors, meanwhile, have continuity to rely on. Pfizer's board declared a quarterly cash dividend of USD 0.43 per common share for the fourth quarter of 2026, payable December 7, 2026, to shareholders of record at the close of business on November 6, 2026. The declaration marks the 352nd consecutive quarterly payout in the company's history, and management reiterated its aim not just to sustain the distribution but to raise it over the long term.
The payout is underpinned by solid cash generation, though looming patent expirations on key medicines counsel caution — the durability of future distributions will hinge largely on how successfully the development pipeline delivers.
Trading has been calm of late. Pfizer closed at EUR 24.41 in German trading on Tuesday, and the stock is up 15% since the start of the year, a gain that reflects renewed market confidence in the pharma giant's operational reset as pipeline progress and a dependable dividend bring the core business back to center stage after the pandemic-era windfall.
